What makes a good Halloween costume, Collective?
This week, I'd like you to write for us.
Is it the thought and skill that goes into accurately recreating the thing you're trying to embody? Is it just enough to give the impression?
How much do you use makeup in your costumes?
Do you buy or make your costumes? For example, I decided to play around with cosplaying Agent #9 from our book Paranormal Powers. If I were entirely accurate, I'd have drawn runes in black sharpie up and down my skin and gotten a fantastic magenta blouse.
Personally, I think I look gorgeous.
TELL ME I'M PRETTY.
Now, for some practical tips, how do you recreate the blissful look of those at eternal peace?
1) White cream make up. Very cheap. Mix with your usual foundation, though I'm not sure if that'll work for those that aren't naturally born looking like an angry ghost whose skin only gets the light of the computer screen.
2) Dark red cream eyeshadow. Especially with white as a primer, this really stands out, unless you're me, and have hooded eyes that never show any eyeshadow.
3) Black eyeliner and mascara
4) Wet and Wild eyeshadow in various purples. This really darkens the undereye to give it that 'bruised' appearance.
5) A silver eyeshadow for highlighter6) A dark grey eyeshadow for contour, as well as the darkest purple. The grey you'll blend in, while the purple will stand out for a skeletal look.
I forgot to include my lip color, which was Maybelline's Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color in Possessed Plum and set with the dark purple eyeshadow for lasting power.
