Hello Collective!

Our reading lists are now open again.

Guidelines for Paranormal Community reading lists:

General Guidelines:

All entries must follow Wattpad content guidelines which can be found here: http://w.tt/2bPRJin (or use the external link)

This includes:

1) Reader appropriate content and rating. (Marked 'Mature' when appropriate)
2) Stories must be original work.

3) Story has been placed in the correct category.

((Please do not change your category to Paranormal just to make it onto our lists, and certainly please do not change it after you have been added. Content moderators may change your category if necessary, and if this is the case, please let us know. If you see a story on the reading lists that has had its category changed, please let us know in a polite private message.))

<>Since we at the WPRS aim to promote paranormal writing and content on Wattpad, it is imperative that all reading list submissions be categorized as 'PARANORMAL'.
((Exceptions will be made for short stories or poetry, or appropriate non-fiction/random books. Short stories may be added to a specific reading list if they are completed, and need not be limited to the Short Story reading list, but short stories should be listed as Short Story per Wattpad guidelines.))

<>In case of any changes made to story content, rating, category, editor's decision, or due to unforeseeable circumstances, we at reserve the right to remove said entry from the reading list even after approval.
For further information on the WPRS and what we stand for please check out the rest of the Initiate's Guide.

Other Details:
1) Please ensure that all entries have good grammar and an appropriate cover, as well as at least five tags beyond the genre to give us an idea of what the book is about.

2) We do not provide feedback on request. Considering the number of entrants and time availability this is not possible. However, you can always ask book clubs or beta readers if you are looking for an opinion on your book.

We reserve the right to choose to provide feedback in a personal rejection if it is a story we are very interested in. In this case, please consider the changes and resubmit, letting us know what changes you made. If an editor took the time out of their day to respond to you, they want that story.

3) Stories do not have to be listed as 'completed', however stories that are not completed should be updated within the last three months. We don't want to direct readers toward books that are on an undetermined hiatus.

4) Stories should have at least three chapters of suitable length (more than one Wattpad page, approx 800 words per page) to give us enough of an idea of the book. Exceptions will be made for Short Stories and Poetry.

5) We will only accept the FIRST book in a series.

6) Books that are intended to be promotional samples for the purpose of selling books on Amazon or other online retailers will not be considered. If the entire book is posted, marketing towards online retailers is acceptable.

7) While our approval standards are not set at professional levels, we are proud of our lists and would like to share well written paranormal books in them. We are looking for engaging books that are interesting and fun to read, and reserve the right to reject a book if the curators cannot agree on taste. Mature books will still be considered, but should follow Wattpad's guidelines.

8) Must include tasteful content. If a story includes content that shames a certain people or group without purpose, it may be declined. There is a difference between shaming for the purpose of character development and world building, and shaming that exists for its own sake.

9) It is impossible for our standards of judging to match up with everyone's criteria, but we will try our best to remain fair. We will have several curators look at the story and come to an agreement on its inclusion. The Magistra or acting Editor retains the right to veto stories unless a majority vote by the Ouija Board overrules her. You will not be made aware of this process, and will receive a simple 'yes' or a 'no'.

Please accept the decision with grace, as sometimes it's not about the story itself, but if it fits our needs.

10) Our curators will do their best to get to your book within a timely manner. If you followed the form submission properly and have not received a 'yes' or a 'no' within two weeks, please send us a polite message, and the Magistra ( )will go kick someone.

11) Please make sure to read the books available in our reading lists if you want a better idea on what we are looking for content wise. If you think that your story belongs in our reading list, send in a submission in a private message to @ParanormalCommunity , not in the comments.

We are always happy to receive them!

Please start your message off with "Dear Curators", so that our curators know that message is for them alone. That way, someone else doesn't accidentally click on it and mark it 'read', as this will reduce the likelihood of a curator seeing it.

We reserve the right to change our reading list guidelines as needed.

We reserve the right to add books not formally submitted.

You are allowed to submit your favorite books on Wattpad on behalf of the author.

The author reserves the right to send us a private message requesting their book be removed from our lists.

Submissions not sent with the format below will not be considered!
