Chapter 2: My true feelings

Ash's POV

"Pikachu, use iron tail!" I shouted as Pikachu unleashed a powerful iron tail. "Greninja, dodge then use water pulse!" Greninja dodged and started to conjure up a water pulse with it's hands aiming it towards Hawlucha. "Now Hawlucha, use wing attack!" Hawlucha uses wing attack and destroys Greninja's water pulse.

"Awesome work, everybody! We're gonna win that gym badge for sure!" I smiled.

"Looks like you're doing okay." I looked behind me to see Serena smiling.

"Oh, Serena. We were just getting some training done around here." I smiled.

"Really? That's great!"

Serena's POV

It's great to see Ash smiling again.

"So what's up? Everything okay, Serena?" He asked me. I blushed in embarrassment and realized I was spacing out. "H-huh? E-everything's fine, Ash!" I stammered.

Ash looked at me confused then went back to training with his Pokemon. He looked much more happier than before now which makes me happy.

Maybe I should..

"A-Ash.." I said.

He stopped training and looked at me. "Yeah, Serena?" He asked me. I averted his gaze and tried to speak but couldn't let out a single word.

"Serena?" Ash began walking up to me. "What's wrong?" He asked me.

He was so caring.. That's the reason I..

"A-Ash, I like you! I.. I've always liked you!" I said.

His eyes widened, "H-huh?" Was he that dense!?

"I like you, Ash. I want to be with you.. Because being with you makes me happy.." I said.

Ash didn't say anything for awhile. He just stared at me confused and shock. Maybe I was stupid to think he'd ever like me back..

Then, he began laughing. I wanted to cry because I felt stupid right now.. He then smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

"I like you too, Serena." He smiled and pulled me into a hug.

My eyes widened.

W-was this really happening? Ash likes me back?

I closed my eyes and smiled as I hugged him back. I then pulled away from him. "Does that mean we're.. you know.. together?"

He chuckled and nodded his head, "of course."

"Boyfriend and girlfriend?" I asked.

"Yeah, we are." He smiled. "Do you mind if I get back to training?" I nodded as he went back to training with his Pokemon. I smiled and watched as he trained with them.

With Dawn

"Kalos sure is beautiful, right Piplup?" I asked my Pokemon partner.

"Piplup!" It cheered happily.

I looked out the window and smiled.
