Chapter 30: Mr. And Mrs. Ketchum

2 months later...

Ash's POV

"Dude, calm down. You look fine." Drew told me. I kept pacing around the room and checking myself in the mirror every once in awhile. "But this is gonna be the first time I see Dawn in awhile!" I told him.

"Dude, you saw her a week ago.." He said.

"I'm freaking out, Drew. I'm freaking out. Do I smell? Is my hair okay? Anything in my teeth?" I said looking in the mirror. Drew then grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me. "Ash! Calm down! You're getting married to my best friend in 1 hour, I don't think she needs you to be freaking out like this."

I looked at him and sighed, "Drew, that's the thing, I'm marrying Dawn. What if she realizes she deserves someone better than me?" I asked him.

"I highly doubt that. Dawn loves you and the only way she'll ever leave is if you don't show her that you feel the same way." He told me.

Hmm.. Thanks, Drew." I smiled. Just then the door opened and I saw Gary, Paul, and Barry walk in. "Hey, Ashy boy. Ready for the big day?" Gary smirked. "Shut up." I told him.

"Just remember, Ash. She's my step-sister getting married to a pathetic loser like you. Don't even think of hurting her." Paul said.

Okay, let me explain... A few years back, Paul's dad and Dawn's mom got married which meant that Paul and Dawn were step brother and sister. Which made Paul my "brother-in-law."

"I won't, Paul."

"Ash, you better promise me this is gonna be the greatest wedding of all time or I'm gonna fine you!" Barry shouted.

We all laughed at his childishness. Brock, Cilan and Clemont then walked in and greeted me. "Brock, you're actually here." I said. "I wouldn't miss my friends wedding." He said as he gave me a bro hug. Clemont and Cilan did the same and congratulated me. "Congratulations on you and Serena, Clemont." I smiled. "Thanks, Ash." He said.

With Dawn

"Of all the days my hair doesn't cooperate with me." I groaned as I tried my best to brush my hair.

"Dawn? Is everything--" I looked behind me to see May. "May! Thank goodness you're here. My hair won't cooperate with me and I look like an absolute mess. My makeup looks horrible and I feel like I'm gonna throw up! I can't do this, May!" I shouted.

She sighed at me then opened up the door again, "girls. Bride emergency." She said and Zoey, Misty, Serena, and Iris came inside. "Oh, Dawn. There's no need to be nervous." Misty smiled as she grabbed the brush from my hand and began to brush my hair gently.

"That's easy for you to say. You and Tracey weren't nervous at all when you got married." I pouted.

Misty chuckled at me. "If I recall, Tracey was the nervous one."

"You gotta calm down, Dawn. I'mpretty  sure Ash is keeping his cool for you."

Back with Ash

"ASH CALM DOWN MAN." The guys shouted trying their best to hold the groom back.

"I.. I CAN'T. I'M GETTING MARRIED IN 30 MINUTES AND I PROBABLY LOOK LIKE A MESS. DAWN WILL HATE ME. THERE'S NO WAY SHE'LL MARRY ME." Ash shouted breathing heavily.

"Well.. When you put it that way.."

"PAUL. NOW'S NOT THE TIME." They all shouted.

They tried their best to calm Ash down but failed badly as Ash ran out the room freaking out. They all chased after him to try and calm him down again.

Back with Dawn

"I STILL LOOK LIKE A MESS. THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY ASH WILL WANT TO MARRY ME. LOOK AT ME." Dawn cried out as the girls did their best to calm the bride down.

"Dawn, calm down please! You're getting married soon!" May shouted.

"Dawn, please let us fix you up!" Serena said.

"NO WAY. I CAN'T DO THIS. I'M A COMPLETE MESS." Dawn shouted.

Both Dawn and Ash

"THERE'S NO WAY I'M GETTING MARRIED LIKE THIS!"

Narrator (that's me): And you can see why they're made for each other.

The start of the wedding. Both Ash and Dawn had calmed down and were ready for their big day.

"You okay, man?" Brock asked Ash. Ash looked back at him and nodded. "Yeah, I'm feeling fine now. I don't know what I was getting so freaked out about." Ash smiled. The guys all looked at each other and sighed.

The piano began to play and that meant it was time for the bride to arrive. Everyone stood up as the doors opened to reveal Dawn standing arm in arm with her step father as she walked down the aisle with him smiling.

Ash's eyes widened at how beautiful she looked. Brock then took out a tissue and handed it to Ash. "Don't worry, I got you." Ash took the tissue from him and wiped his tears away, "thanks, Brock." He whispered.

Dawn had finally made her way to Ash as her step dad stood next to them. "Who gives this woman to this man?" The priest asked. Dawn's step dad smiled, "her mother and I do." He said offering Dawn's arm to Ash.

The wedding began and after the priest had finished talking it was time for Ash and Dawn to say their vows.

Ash smiled at Dawn and spoke, "Dawn Berlitz, we fight, we make up, and then fight again. There are a lot of things I want to say to you but foremost... Thanks for being there for me." Dawn smiled, "Through today, tomorrow, and the day after, this journey goes forever on but always... your smile is with me. You're a nice partner, nice rival, we may argue but as long as we follow each other, we'll find a way to compromise. As long as we're together, we can fly away and face our dreams."

Dawn smiled as she wiped a few tears away and spoke. "Ash Ketchum, companions on this journey, compassion in the world, I pretend to understand those things but the truth is... I'm happy you're here for me. To the north, to the south, east and west, the scenery goes on changing but no matter where I go... your smile is always there.  You're a nice partner, nice rival, protecting me, saving me, our journey goes on through an expanding wasteland. As long as we're together, I won't give up so easily."

They both smiled at each other as they took their rings and put it on each others fingers. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest smiled.

Ash smiled as he leaned in and kissed Dawn, lifting her up into his arms. They then pulled away from each other smiling, "I love you." said Ash. Dawn smiled at him, "I love you too." And they both leaned in for another kiss.
