Chapter 18: Dawn vs Serena (Part 2)

Alright guys. Here it is! The long awaited battle :D I recommend listening to Pokemon Theme Songs to get into the feel of the battle because it'll feel like you're really watching the both of them battle it out xD Enjoy!

Ash's POV

I sat on one of the benches to watch both Serena and Dawn battle. Serena was battling for me and Dawn just didn't want to start anymore conflict so she agreed to battle with Serena. Serena had called out her Pokemon first.

"Braixen, come on out!" Serena shouted as she threw her pokeball into the air and the fire fox Pokemon appeared on the battlefield.

"Okay, Piplup. Let's go!" Dawn shouted as she sent out Piplup onto the battlefield. The penguin Pokemon showed no signs of fear towards Braixen.

Clemont was going to be the battle judge for this battle. He walked in between both Serena and Dawn and started, "The battle between Dawn and Serena will now begin! Both sides will use 3 Pokemon each and the battle is over when all 3 of one sides Pokemon is unable to continue! So without further ado... Let the battle begin!"

"Braixen, use flamethrower!" Serena shouted as Braixen unleashed a flamethrower toward Piplup. Dawn smirked and I knew what she was about to do. "Piplup, spin and use bubblebeam!" Piplup jumped as it started spinning and dodging the flamethrower and later launching a successful bubblebeam towards Braixen.

Braixen fell back taking a lot of damage from bubblebeam. Piplup landed in front of it in triumph. "Braixen! Are you okay?" Serena asked as Braixen stood back up weakly. "Hang in there Braixen and use will-o-wisp!" Braixen started to unleash will-o-wisp towards Piplup. "Piplup, dodge and use icebeam!" Dawn shouted as Piplup landed a powerful icebeam on Braixen. "Alright! Finish it off with hydropump!" Dawn said as Piplup unleashed a powerful hydropump towards Braixen causing it to faint.

"Braixen is unable to battle! The victor is Piplup!" Clemont said as he gestured his hand towards Piplup. Dawn returned Piplup to it's pokeball and thanked it for the win as well as Serena.

"Pancham, I choose you!" Serena said as she threw her pokeball in the air and a panda Pokemon came out looking tough. "Pancham, huh?" Dawn smirked, "Buneary, I choose you!" She shouted as she threw a pokeball in the air and out came a bunny Pokemon.

"What's Dawn doing? She does know that Pancham is a fighting type so a normal type like Buneary won't cause much damage." Bonnie said. I smiled, "actually, Dawn doesn't care about advantages or disadvantages because she's been in tough spots like this already and she knows how to get through it. Dawn is a strong trainer and she's come a long way to give up right now."

Serena smirked thinking she had the edge now. "Use arm thrust, Pancham!" She shouted as Pancham did launched at arm thrust towards Buneary. "Dodge it, Buneary then use dizzy punch!" Buneary dodged Pancham as it leaped into the air and launched a dizzy punch attack from the sky landing a direct hit on Pancham. "Pancham, stay strong!" Pancham looked a bit weak but stood up strong. "Great! Pancham use karate chop!" Pancham began landing critical hits on Buneary which resulted in Buneary getting a lot of damage. "Hang in there, Buneary! I know you can do this!" Buneary was laying on the ground, unable to move. "Buneary, don't give up! It isn't over till it's over!"

My eyes widened as I remembered that phrase. It was the same thing she had said to Princess Salvia when she was about to lose in Arrowroot Town Pokemon contest. I also said the same thing to her at the Grand festival.

"I know you can do it, Buneary!" Dawn shouted. Buneary began to get up as it brushed off the pain it was feeling. "Alright, Buneary! Let's use ice beam!" Dawn shouted as it started launching ice beams at Pancham. "Useless! Pancham, dodge!" Serena shouted as Pancham began dodging Buneary's ice beams which cause Buneary to turn the battle field into an ice field. "I thought you'd do that." Dawn smirked which left Serena a bit confused. "Now Buneary, use dizzy punch!" Buneary then began using the ice to it's advantage by sliding around it and landing hits on Pancham. Pancham couldn't do anything but slip and fall down on the ice. "Pancham!" Serena shouted. "Let's finish this off with bounce!" Dawn said as Buneary jumped landed a critical hit on Pancham which caused it to faint.

"Pancham is unable to battle. The victor is Buneary!" Clemont shouted as he gestured a hand towards Buneary. "I knew you could do it, Buneary!" Dawn said as Buneary ran up to her and jumped into her arms. Pikachu ran up to both of them to congratulate Buneary which resulted in Pikachu getting tackled to the ground.

Serena was down to her last Pokemon. She threw her pokeball in the air and out came Sylveon. "Sylveeeon." It said. Dawn was amazed about Sylveon but tried not to let that get in the way of their battle. She took out her pokeball and threw it in the air and out came a flying Pokemon.

"Tokisss!!" It was Togekiss! I watched as the flying fairy Pokemon flew around the air. This would be a tough battle, both Pokemon were fairy types but Dawn had the advantage because of Togekiss being a flying type as well.

"Sylveon, use fairy wind!" Serena called out. Sylveon began to use fairy wind but it was no use. "Togekiss, dodge with style and grace then use aura sphere!" Dawn said. Togekiss elegantly dodged Sylveon's attack and launched aura sphere towards it landing a critical hit.

"Sylveon stay strong! Use Moonblast!" Serena shouted as Sylveon attacked Togekiss with moonblast. "Style and grace Togekiss then use air slash!" Togekiss followed Dawn's commands and launched an air slash towards Sylveon. The fairy Pokemon couldn't take much more and had fainted from exhaustion.

"Sylveon is unable to battle. The victor is Togekiss! That means the victory goes to Dawn!" Clemont announced. Me and Bonnie clapped for Dawn as well as Pikachu.

Serena's POV
Dawn smiled as she walked up to me, I was carrying Sylveon in my arms. "Came to brag about how better you are?" I scoffed. Dawn shook her head and smiled at me. "Your Pokemon were just amazing, they were all very cute too. This was definitely a fun battle." My eyes widened at her, I expected her to brag and tell me how she's better than me but instead.. she's commenting on how my Pokemon were.

"You.. You really think so?" I asked. She nodded her head and smiled. "You should think about competing in Pokemon contests. I'm sure you'd love them!" I looked at her for awhile then down at the ground.

I smiled. This is why Ash likes her.. She's so kind even towards her opponents..

I looked up at her and held out my hand, she happily shook my hand and I smiled at her.

"Take care of Ash, okay?"
