Dawn's POV

I was really happy that Ash won the Lumiose Conference but when I heard that he'd be going to different regions to meet the champions, I felt sad because that would mean he'd have to leave me behind. I didn't want that but I didn't want to ruin his dream either.

"You seem troubled, Dawn." Meyer said walking up to me.

"Me? No. Not at all." I lied.

"You can't lie to me, Dawn. I know when someone's lying to me." He said.

I sighed and looked back at Ash who was surrounded by a crowd of girls that were congratulating him. He was then dragged off to the celebration party that was always held after every tournament for the winner. I then looked down at the ground not knowing what to say to Meyer.

"You're thinking about Ash and what you're gonna do if he goes to other regions, am I right?" Spot on, Meyer

I nodded at him then looked up at the sky. "Why not follow him, Dawn?" He asked me. I shook my head at him, "if only it were that easy. I still wanna be a top coordinator and... traveling to different regions with Ash isn't gonna help me with that." I told him. "You both have different dreams.. and a long distance relationship isn't easy." Meyer said. "But, I feel it's best to tell Ash how you feel so you two can find a way to work it out together." I nodded at him. "You're right.. thanks, Meyer." I smiled as I ran off to find Ash.

At the celebration party

I walked around looking for Ash in the huge crowd. Where could he be?

"Ash! You're so cool!" I heard a girl scream. Found him... I ran in the direction of the scream and found Ash sitting in a chair surrounded by a crowd of girls that were asking him loads of questions. "How's it feel to be the winner of the Lumiose Conference?" One girl asked. Before Ash could answer another girl asked him a question.

"Is Pikachu your first Pokemon?"

"How many regions have you been to?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

I widened my eyes at that question and waited for Ash to answer. "Actually, I do have a girlfriend and I'd like to get back to her, if you don't mind." Ash said standing up from his chair. "Awwwwww! Really!? You have a girlfriend!?! Why!?" I smiled at Ash's answer but got annoyed by the many girls asking him why he has a girlfriend. I decided to step in.

"Can I have a word with you, boyfriend." I smirked. Ash smiled at me and walked up to me as he gave me hug and made all the girls scream in anger. "That's his girlfriend!? A bluenette!? She's not all that!" I rolled my eyes at them as I walked off somewhere with Ash where we could talk in private. We found a bench that was far away from the celebration party but we could still hear the crowd of people in the background.

"Sorry I didn't go up to you after I won. Those girls surrounded me and dragged me away before I could." Ash chuckled.

"It's okay." I smiled.

"What'd you wanna talk about?" He asked me.

I looked down at the ground and fiddled around with my fingers not knowing how to start the conversation. "Can you believe it though? I'm actually gonna be traveling around to different regions meeting all the champions and becoming a Pokemon master." He smiled and leaned back against the bench. He sounds so happy. "It's gonna be even more great if you come with me, Dawn." He told me. "Ash.. I'm happy that you'd want me to come with you but.. I can't." I said. He looked at me confused, "why?"

"I have my own dreams too. I still wanna be top coordinator and traveling to other regions won't help me reach that.." I said.

"But, Dawn--" He said.

"Ash, I love you. But, I want to achieve my own dreams and I want you to do the same." I said, trying to choke back a few tears.

"..Is this really what you want?" Ash said.

Although I didn't want to say.. I said it anyway. "..Yes."

He looked down at the ground sadly. He didn't say anything, his fists were clenched and I could see a few tears streaming down his cheeks. He then got up from the bench and turned to face me.

"Well, Dawn.. Thanks for everything." He said.

It hurt me when he said that but I had to bear with it... "Yeah.. Thanks for everything, Ash.. I hope.. You find someone else out there during your travel.." I told him.

"Yeah.. I hope." He said walking away back to the celebration party.

I sat there crying knowing that this is for the best..

The end.
