Chapter 16: Clemont gives love advice?

Ash's POV

We were back in Kalos and currently in Couriway Town where we would get on a train to Snowbelle City. Serena waited for the train tickets from Nurse Joy while I sat down with Pikachu sitting on my lap. I looked down at the ground sadly as I thought about Dawn. Pikachu noticed how I was feeling and began to nuzzle my face a bit.

"Sorry buddy.. I just.. really wanted to tell her how I feel." I said in a hushed voice.

"Okay! I got our tickets, so let's get going. Bonnie and Clemont are waiting for us!" Serena smiled as she grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the train.

Dawn..

Back in Hoenn (Dawn's POV)

"Thanks for the dinner, May! This is great!" Drew said munching down on some meat and bread. May smiled at him, "no problem. I did learn a lot from Brock." She then looked over at me and noticed I had barely touched my food. "Dawn? What's wrong? Not hungry?" She asked me.

I looked at her and smiled lightly, "No, it's not that. I'm just thinking about something." Drew gave me a pat on the back and continued eating his food. I smiled at him then got up from my seat and walked out of the Pokemon center.

I sat on one of the benches outside and began thinking about Ash again. Should I really go to Kalos and cheer him on in the league? He came here just to cheer me on in the Grand Festival so maybe I should--

"Hey, Dawn." I looked up to see May standing beside me. I smiled at her as she sat down next to me. "You're thinking about Ash, right?" She asked me. I nodded my head and looked up at the beautiful night sky. "I'm just thinking whether or not I should go to Kalos and cheer him on like he did for me." I then looked down at the ground sadly, "maybe he wouldn't even want me there because he has Serena."

May placed a hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see her smiling at me. "Oh, Dawn. If only you knew." She chuckled. "Knew what?" I asked. She smiled and got up from the bench and was about to go back in the Pokemon center until she looked at me, "why not go to Kalos and see?" She said going into the Pokemon center.

I was confused but I was curious to find out what she meant. I decided I'd leave for Kalos in the morning.

Back in Kalos (Ash's POV)

We were back in Snowbelle City and as we got into the Pokemon center we were greeted by Clemont and Bonnie.

"Welcome back, everyone!" Bonnie smiled.

"How was Slateport City?" Clemont asked.

Instead of answering Clemont's question, I walked towards the fireplace and sat down on one of the couches. I set Pikachu down near the fireplace next to a sleeping Bunnelby and Chespin to keep it warm. I sighed as I looked down at the ground sadly.

"I'm gonna be in my room sleeping. Traveling to Hoenn and back really made me tired. Good night everyone." Serena said as she went up to me and gave me a peck on the cheek and proceeded to go to her room.

Clemont and Bonnie noticed how I was acting and asked if I was okay. I looked up at them and they noticed I was cry a bit. I didn't even know that I was crying. I began to wipe the tears away with my sleeves and looked away from them.

"I'm fine.." I told them.

"We can tell you're not." Clemont said, "what happened, Ash?"

I didn't know how to tell them that I wasn't in love with Serena. That I was never in love with her that way because I thought I was but I wasn't. How do you tell that to them without looking like a complete jerk? Well, either way, I am a complete jerk.

"I'm guessing.. you realized your feelings for Dawn?" Clemont asked me. My eyes widened as I looked up at him. He smiled lightly at me and Bonnie smiled as well. "How did you.. know that?" I asked him.

"Ash, it's pretty obvious how I see it. Just seeing how you act around Serena says a whole lot." He told me.

"It means you really like Dawn!" Bonnie said excitedly. Clemont placed a hand over her mouth because she had shouted it out a bit too loud and Serena might have heard her. He then removed his hand from her mouth and told her to be a little more quiet next time. I chuckled at the two and scratched the back of my head in embarrassment. They looked at me waiting for me to confirm if I really did like Dawn or not.

"I don't just like her... I love her." I smiled. Bonnie was about to squeal in excitement until Clemont covered her mouth again. "But the thing is.. I don't wanna hurt Serena's feelings." I told them.

Clemont uncovered Bonnie's mouth then smiled lightly at me. "Well, it's better to break it up with her than to continue on having no real feelings for her. It'll hurt her more if you two are still dating and she finds out you have no real feelings for her. But, the sooner you break up with her, the sooner she'll get over it and be happy on her own. If you really love Dawn, tell her how you feel. You never know what the outcome is."

Both me and Bonnie's eyes widened at Clemont because we were both in shock. We looked at each other then back at him.

"Did.. Did you just give love advice?" I asked.

"He did.." Bonnie said.

"IS IT REALLY THAT SURPRISING TO YOU TWO!?" He shouted.

Both me and Bonnie began laughing and soon enough, Clemont joined in as well. "Thanks Clemont." I smiled.
