Chapter 27: Ash Ketchum plans a wedding?

Dawn's POV

"Dawn, your fiance is here to see you." Nurse Joy told me. I nodded at her as she led me to where Kenny was and saw him standing near the counter in his business suit. Kenny was actually the new head director of Pokemon Contests held in Sinnoh. 

"Hey, Kenny." I said walking up to him.

"Hello, Dawn." He smiled as he gave me a kiss on my cheek.

"Why are you here? I thought you had a meeting to attend in Sunnyshore City?" I asked him.

"I pushed the meeting to later. I came to talk to you about a few things." He said as he held my hand and led me out the Pokemon center to a nearby diner. We both ordered something to eat and waited for our food. "So, what'd you wanna talk about Kenny?" I asked him. "I'd like to get married in a week." He told me. My eyes widened at him, "a week? But, Kenny we still have a lot to do before then and-" He stopped me mid sentence. "I know, I know. But Dawn, I have a lot of work to do afterwards. We'll have to postpone our honeymoon to another time." Our food arrived and we thanked the waiter as he left. I slowly ate my food while Kenny ate it down like a Munchlax. For a head director, he sure lacks table manners..

He got up from his seat, grabbed my hand and placed a kiss on it as he left the money for our food on the table. "See you next week for our wedding." He said as he left the diner and got into car to drive off to the next city. I sighed as I got up from my seat and called up a taxi to drop me back to Twinleaf Town.

As soon as the taxi came, I got in and told him where to drive me. He nodded his head as he began to drive down the road leading to Oreburgh City.

This is not how I pictured my life to be.. I pictured it to be living happily with Kenny, taking a break from our jobs and just living life together. Guess not..

The taxi made a stop at Oreburgh City to fill up on gas. After he was done, he got back in and continued driving. After passing through Jubilife City, I could already see Twinleaf Town and it still looked beautiful to me. As soon as the taxi stopped in front of my mom's house, I got down, paid the fee, and made my way inside.

I opened the door and could hear my mom talking to someone from inside the kitchen. I couldn't hear the other person's voice but continued to make my inside.

"Thanks so much, Johanna." My eyes widened as soon as I saw who was sitting on the kitchen table talking to my mom. My mom then looked over to where I was and smiled as she went over and gave me a hug. "Dawn! You didn't tell me you were visiting!" She said happily. "Sorry, mom. It was just last minute." I said. My mom then remembered the other person in the room and told me about why they're here.

"That's right. Um, Ash came to see you dear. He also asked to stay here for awhile." She smiled.

I looked over at Ash who smiled at me as he took a sip from his tea. He's really grown up over the past years. "Dawn? Why don't you and Ash catch up on things while I make dinner?" My mom said. "Sure. Um, come on Ash. Let's go up to the guest room and I'll help you unpack." I told him. He nodded at me as we both made our way up to the guest room where we'll be staying.

Ash's POV

The guest room where I used to stay in when we finished our journey in Sinnoh remained the same. I put my bag on the bed and began unpacking my clothes as I put them into a drawer. Dawn fixed up the bed and cleaned around the room. Pikachu jumped off from my shoulder and went to go play with Piplup leaving me and Dawn alone.

"So, um.. When are you and Kenny getting married?" It pained me to ask that but I needed to start a conversation somehow.

"Oh, next week actually." She smiled lightly.

"NEXT WEEK!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN NEXT WEEK!?" I shouted and the room got quiet again. Dawn looked at me with widened eyes as if I just killed someone. "I mean.. Why next week? Don't you need a few months to plan ahead?" I asked her.

She sighed, "yeah but.. Kenny's going to be busy with work afterwards."

Wow.. What a workaholic..

"But there's so much to do and I can't plan everything by myself." She sighed as she sat down on the bed. I didn't like seeing Dawn like this, it really hurt. I sat down next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, "what if.. I help you plan the wedding?" It pained me to say it but I wanted to help Dawn anyway I can just to make her happy.

"Really? You'd do that for me?" She asked.

"Of course." I smiled.

"Oh, thank you Ash. You're the best." She said embracing me into a hug.

"No problem, Dawn."

"I'll go get the wedding plans so we can look over them together. Thanks again so much." She said walking out the door. I sighed, this was for Dawn.. I'd do anything to make her happy. Even if it means.. Planning her own wedding with Kenny..
