You have to understand my deep hatred for volley ball. When I was in the eighth grade I was practicing my volleys against the wall and some idiot decided to spike the ball right at my head. I went to the nurses, got an ice pack and sat out for the rest of the class but unlucky me, some how a second ball found its way to my head and bam concussion city for me.

After we stretched we found out that today we would be playing volleyball, and that Tiffany hitch was in my gym class. Well I'm sure everyone else knew about Tiffany but I sure didn't. Just my luck. on the fist day I get to play volleyball, a sport I hate with a passion with a girl who has already tried to embarrass me after knowing me for less than ten seconds.

Alright don't panic all you have to do is pretend you know what your doing and try not to died. Fake it till you make it.

The coach made us line up on the wall so he could sort out teams. My team looked like it was going to be okay. There was a tall guy who obviously knew what he was doing, a brunette who looked sporty enough to help out the tall guy. Then there was a kid named jared. he was in math class. He's known for his pungent oder. But it wasn't my team I was worried about, it was the other. There was Jake who looked like he was gonna be a good volleyball player, Jessica the leading female athlete at our school, a guy who was literally wearing the schools volleyball jersey and of course Tiffany.

Jake smiled at me as the ball went up and I gulped as it came straight for me. With a bump off my forearms the ball made it over the net. I silently celebrated. After a few passes some how, by the grace of God, our team scored. Second round. The ball went to Jake who gently sent the ball over to our side choosing to play it easy on us. Thanks Jake. Jared sent the ball over the net which went to Tiffany. Before I could even anticipate what she was going to do a ball hit me right between the eyes. If I'm being honest it probably hurt a lot. Lucky for me I managed to pass out before I even realized what had happened.

When I woke up I was laying exactly where I had fallen with a group if people crowded around me. I recognized Lissa, Jake, and Nancy but the rest were just a bunch of classmates which I hadn't learned the names of yet.

"Alright back up so we can take her home." Lissa demanded. Everyone left and all who were left were Jake Lissa and Nancy. All three of them reached a hand out for me to grab. I declined all of them and got up on my own.

"What happened?" I asked. I knew the answer but that's what your supposed to ask after you wake up after you passed out.

"That bi-" Jake and Lissa covered Nancy's mouth before she could finish her insult. Nancy frowned and crossed her arms.

"Well. Tiffany... Spiked the ball at your head and you passed out." Jake explained slowly. The darn volleyball. I rolled my eyes. Nancy shook jakes and Lissa's hands off of her mouth and uncrossed her arms.

"So now sweetie, we're taking you home." My aunt clarified. I pouted.

"But Im fine."I insisted. I stood with my arms in third position then proceed to do a pirouette to prove it. I didn't want to have a tardy on my first day. I don't want to seem like a slacker. But no matter how much I protested in the end Nancy ended up driving me home.

The gentle rain drops hit the windshield and slid off in streaks. It looked very elegant, like one of my dad photos. Even though it snowed a couple of days ago and it was relatively cold this morning, the temperature raised a significant amount sense then.

The little gingerbread style house was dripping with cold rain as we walked up the steps to the front door. It sure had been an eventful day to say the least. I was exhausted. It's funny how after being knocked out and sleeping for a good five minutes you can be so tired. I flopped down on my mattress which remained on the ground. I closed my eyes and sleep over took me.

I woke up to blue Barrie's hitting the back of my head. Lissa. She's always had a thing for blue Barrie's, this house has never not had blue berries in it. I turned and caught the Barrie which was heading towards me in my mouth smiling smugly. Lissa applauded me before plopping down next to me on the mattress.

"Everyone is worried about you you know." Lissa informed me. I rolled my eyes.

"Who's everyone? you and Nancy?" I asked. I knew if my parents were here they would have insisted on taking me into the emergency room and being melodramatic. Lissa frowned at me.

"No there's Marcus and lily. And jakes worried sick about you." She told me. I chuckled dryly.

"But I only just met them. They can possibly care so much about someone they just met." I argued. Lissa pushed my hair out from my face.

"You see, our family has very likeable personalities. It's almost impossible not to like us." She explained. I laughed and she laughed too before I remember Tiffany. What did I do to peeve her off? My parents would have known.
