The whole night was going smoothly. We ordered some Chinese food then headed up to my room once we were finished. I have no idea why everyone liked sitting in my room but they did. That was where we always went. We all sat on my mattress which, yes, was still on the ground. I really hadn't been bothered with putting together the frame. For the most part we talked about our Halloween plans considering it was only a week away. Every year they set up a huge scary maze in the school. On that day you go to school in your costume and pay a dollar to get in the maze for charity.
"The school is pitch black and they set up these huge boards making a maze where things pop out at you and chase you. It awesome!" Jake explained. Didn't sound so awesome to me. I had never been one to like those type of things. Horror movies, haunted mazes, scary rides, count me out. I mean who would voluntarily scare them selves? Not me that's for sure.
"Sounds fun. I'm sure you'll have a great time." I said trying to waltz my way out of having to do this, but of course lily and Jake noticed. "Well your coming right little dove? We can't be the scooby doo gang with out scooby." Lily pointed out. "Yeah Addi, that'd just be stupid." Jake agreed. Well they've got a point. I was about to argue when I realized Lissa and Marcus weren't around. "Hey guys where's Lissa and Marcus?" I asked. Both of them shrugged. I got up from my mattress. "I'm gonna go find them." I said. I noticed Lily stiffen before I left. What was that about?
Now lady's and gentlemen I have some advice for you all. If your cousin and one of your best friends are off alone some where, when you enter a room make sure you announce your presence or you might see them kissing in a way that makes you blush.
"Oh, mygod!" I gasped. They broke apart and faced me at my gasp. What the heck! "Oh hey blondy. Did see you there." Marcus awkwardly laughed. I raised an eyebrow. "You don't say." I shot back closing the door of Lissas bedroom. I crossed my arm and looked at them both. They just stood there and didn't say a word. Then realization hit me. "Is this like that episode of friends where each one finds out about chandler and Monica one by one?" I asked then gasped. "Does this mean I'm Ross?" I asked. Lissa walked to me.
"No no little coz your not the last one to find out. You aren't the first either..." She explained. I let out a sigh of relief. So who else knows then? Lily. When ever Lissa and Marcus were alone together she was always the one to go and find them. At the movie theatre on the snow day she went to go see what happened. "So jakes the last one to know then?" I asked. They both nodded their heads. "Why don't you just tell him?" I asked. They both shrugged their shoulders. I rolled my eyes, grabbed both their wrists and led them back to my room where lily and Jake were sitting there. I dropped both their wrists.
"They have something to tell you." I said looking at Jake. Lissa but her lip and Marcus cleared his throat. "Lissa and I are dating." He told Jake simply. Jakes moth dropped and lily pushed it closed. "Aww would you look at that Marcus' got himself a girlfriend." Jake teased. I could tell from the look on his face he was going to milk this for everything it was worth. And he did. Till eleven the night was filled with Jake teasing Marcus about Lissa. Sometimes when Marcus got a tad fed up he would tease Jake about me, which was confusing and made the situation a little awkward. When everyone went home Lissa and I were pooped. She went to go take a shower and I sat on my bed.
"Psst." I herd behind me. I turned to to walky-talkie sitting on my window cill. I lunged for it then answered Jake back. "Pretty crazy about Lissa and Marcus." He told me. I had no idea he was such a gossip. I chuckled to myself. "Ya I know right. I always knew something was off." I told him. Jake laughed on the other side of the walky-talkie. "You did not." He replied through laughs. "Shhh yes I did." I said laughing along with him. Once the laughing died down Jake carried on the conversation.
"Do you think they're in love?" He asked. I thought about it for a second. Could they be? I mean we have no idea how long they've been together for. "Maybe." I replied simply. "Do you ever think of anyone like that?" He asked. I couldn't answer that because i had no idea if I did or not. "I don't know." I hoped that answer was good enough. "Hmm. I do." He told me. Now it's going to bug me forever if he doesn't tell me. Just like the paper air plane. "Who?" I asked. "Good night Addi. I'll see you tomorrow." He said. Then the line went dead. I groaned then put the walky-talkie beside my mattress. Good night Jake.
