We sat by the window trying to throwing a paper airplane with a message written on it into jakes open window. So far we had made thirteen and none of them had made it into the window. Granted I wasn't the one throwing them. Or making them.
"Come on Lissa let me throw it. I'm a better shot. Or at least let me make one so it doesn't look like a crumped piece of paper with a point at the end" I told her. Sure I was a pro at making paper airplanes but I was also good at throwing them. But Lissa only attempted to throw another one in his window. I didn't understand why we couldn't just yell at him. He was in his room, I could see him But Lissa said this would be more effective. I handed Lissa another one of her wods of paper with a point and she aimed it for jakes window. To my surprise the wind carried the air plane right in front of Jake. He looked at the paper airplane surprised then turned to my window where Lissa and I were standing. I turned to see Lissa smiling devilishly.
He slowly opened up the air plan and read the message. After he was done he crumbled the paper and threw it back through the window. As he Approached the window and Lissa smiled proudly.
"Really?" He asked. I shrugged and Lissa nodded her head.
"Who wrote it?" He asked. Lissa raised her hand bubbly shooting him a devilish look.
"Lissa wrote it and wouldn't tell me what she wrote. Please tell me what she wrote I'm dying to know." I pleaded. I've always been curious and I know that if I don't know what the paper says I'm going to be wondering about it until I know. Jakes eyes widened.
"No, it uh not important." he refused. I frowned at him and Lissa gave him a surprised look.
"Why not?" She asked. Jake just shook his head no. And Lissa gave him a look that said other wise.
"Hold on I'm getting my family and coming over." He said before grabbing his jacket from his bed. I grinned at Lissa. Wow that really did work. Now it's killing me even more to know what she wrote. it's going to be a long night. Both my parents would have been able to persuade him to tell me.
Not long after there was a knock at the door. Me and Lissa rushed down stairs. Lissa had a devilish smile look on her face which made me wonder what she was planning. You see, Lissa has always been one for master plans. She acts as a real life fate making things happen to different people with unusually complex plans to ensure she'll get the results she wants. I'd recognize that smile anywhere. Jake and his family had big smiles plastered across their faces. I noticed a small brunette by Jolenes side, gripping her hand. I assumed that was ruby.
Nancy invited them in. The walkers rushed in to escape the bitter cold out side. Jumping from behind the three was oscar the family's black lab who to me, resembled a hell hound. I flinched as it barked in mine and Lissa's direction. Everyone seemed to notice. I smiled sheepishly before Lissa and I headed down to greet the guests.
"Oh Addi dear, I hope it's okay we brought oscar. We just didn't have the heart to leave him." Jolene told me. I only smiled uncomfortably and patted the dogs head, we'll attempted. As I brought my hand to oscars head he snapped at me and I quickly brought my hand to my chest. The dog licked its lips and moved its self to the kitchen. Once the group diverse, Nancy and Jolene in the kitchen, Jake Lissa and I steeling some cookies and shoving them into our pockets before heading up to my room, and Ruby stuck next to her mother not uttering a word. She was shy which was shocking sense Jake couldn't go five minutes without talking to someone.
When we closed the door to my room I flopped down on my bed, which was still on the floor, looking up at the ceiling. I felt the bed sink beside me. I turned and frowned when I came face to face with a grinning. I made sure he saw my frown then sat up and moved to the desk where Lissa was sitting. Lissa laughed and Jake put his hand over his heart and faked a hurt expression. I rolled my eyes and fished in my pockets for a cookie.
"So what was on the airplane?" I asked braking the silence. The originally comfortable silence was replaced by an awkwardly uncomfortable one. The silence dragged on as I was still waiting for some one to answer. But no one ever did! Lissa just grabbed Jake and took him to another room. I frowned and shoved another cookie into my mouth.
After several minutes of waiting Lissa and Jake finally came back in the room and sat down like nothing happened.

After the strange events earlier in the evening things started to look up and became much more interesting. We talked for hours telling stories laughing at the humorous events told in the stories. Jake told one about how one time in second grade these two kids claimed they were dating and got married under the slide but the whole time the little girls husband was cheating!
"I wonder who the mistress was." I said in an ominous tone before Lissa and Jake laughed at my joke. I let out a soft chuckle as well. The rest of the night was care free and easy going enough. At around eleven Mrs. Walker and Nancy told us to go to sleep. We all pouted but did as we were told. After we made our sleeping arrangements we all hit the sack because tomorrow was my first outing in this new town and everyone, including ruby, said that I should get some sleep. I flopped down on my bed with Jake in Lissa's room and Lissa with me. Just as I began to drift asleep Lissa broke the silence.
"What did Tiffany say to you at lunch?" She mumbled. I took in a sharp breath.
"My parents."
