What I said was true. I got no sleep. But not because of my late night thoughts because of Jake. We talked over the talkies until one in the morning about Tiffany and my parents. It was a good conversation and I like talking to Jake. I like Jake in general. Around nine music came blaring through from the walky-talkie. I groaned and grabbed it. "Jake stop I'm awake." I requested. Then the music stopped. I slowly dragged my self out of bed and I knew right away this was going to be your average Sunday. In fact Monday was a pretty average Monday too. Tiffany made it clear that it was her who planned the egging but she refused to name who helped. Then came Tuesday, my birthday. I honestly forgot it was any other day until the happy birthday song came through the speaker of the talkie. I smiled to my self.

"Thanks Jake." I said but there was no reply. I frowned and looked out the window but jakes room was empty. Where was he? I was also surprised that Lissa and Nancy hadn't tackled me in my sleep. They were huge on birthdays. I stretched my arms and got off the mattress which was still on the ground. I went down stairs expecting to be greeted by Lissa and Nancy but there was no one here.

"Hello?" I shouted. My voice only echoed through the empty house. "I can't believe you abandoned me on my birthday." I shouted once again to the empty house. I frowned and went to shower but found a note on the mirror.

Hey little coz, Addi bear, blondy, little dove, happy birthday from all your friends. Now, you probably thought we abandoned you right? I am right! That just goes to show how well I know you. You know what else I know. I know you didn't take a shower last night and sense you shower everyday you were going to take one this morning. Ha! That's how I knew where to place this note. Now go ahead and have you shower, get dressed, and meet us all at the theatre for your surprise party. Thats right, surprise! We threw you a party. Xo- Lissa

I smiled at the note. Lissa did know me well. I did as the note said and took my shower. Sense today was special I decided to dress in something special. I open the drawer of my dresser I hadn't opened sense I got here. The drawer was filled the the idoms of clothing of my parents that I kept. I took one of my moms old tee shirts. And slipped them over my jeans, tucking in the front like I do with every shirt I wear.

It wasn't a long walk to the theatre. And just as I predicted there were balloons beside either side of the door. I smiled and walked through the door and inside I saw something I wasn't expecting, well two things. The first being a lot of people. All the guys for the football team who according to Marcus are quite smitten with me, all the girls I met at the Halloween party, and a few people from my classes who actually bothered to talk to me. The second thing I was surprised about was the fact that they were all fighting.

It seemed everyone had a partner to shout at before finding another person to shout at, well except Kat in my math class who might be even quieter than me. Jake was holding a huge cake with my name on it written in green. The whole place was decorated in brightly coloured streamers. I smiled widely. I can't believe they did this for me. I ran up to Lissa who was arguing with Todd from the football team. She let out a little squeak when we both fell to the ground. Now everyone was looking at us as we laughed on the ground. We got and she looked at me like a proud mother would.

"Happy birthday little coz." She said smothering me in a hug. Next it was Marcus' turn to nearly suffocate me. He gave me a quick nuggy before sending me to lily who wrapped her arms around me. Then it was Jake. He grabbed me by the waist and lifted me off the ground. "Happy sixteen Addi." He said placing me back on the ground. I grinned at them all brightly.

"Thank you so much. You guys are the best." I told them all getting all sentimental. Then the party began. Everyone talked in their own little group individually coming to give me a hug and wishing me a happy birthday. I hadn't realized I had this many friends until I hugged about 40 people. After that we had some cake which was what they were arguing about. They bought it from the store and had no idea what kind it was. One half thought it was chocolate the other thought vanilla. In the end it was strawberry and both sides felt incredibly stupid for not noticing the little pink specks that shown through the icing.

After cake everyone gathered around me for presents. Everyone's attention was placed on me and That made me extremely uncomfortable but I pushed the feeling away.

"Open this one!" Marcus said throwing a yellow box at me. I laughed and looked at the tag. From: river bank high football team + coach William. So that's the coaches name! I smiled at the group of people in front of me and noticed they were all taking pictures. I rolled my eyes and opened the lid to the box. I was confused at first. Buried under the wrapping paper was a football jersey. Then I noticed on it said Addi on it. And on the chest it said dance captain. I smiled a huge grin at the crowd.

"Just our little way of welcoming you to our team." Mark told me. "Aww thanks guys I love it." They all said a your welcome and I moved onto the next present from Nancy who was at work today but would be home after 3:00. I opened the little bag and found a bracelet with a single charm hanging on it. It was a van. a moving van. I was confused until the next few gifts came in. They were all charms that related to part of my adventure here. it starts with the moving van then it goes to a window then a green convertible after that it goes to a Canadian flag and so on. By the end the bracket was only half full. Meaning I still had a lot of adventures to go. And I couldn't wait.
