"First! first! first! first! Second! Second! Second! Second! Third! Second! Back! Second! Third! second! Back and first!" The gym teacher shouted over the piano music. We were doing ballet jumps and not everyone was doing so well. For me this was basic but everyone had found the feet positions difficult to get in the short amount of time they had to jump. The gym teacher sighed and told us we were dismissed. As I wondering out the door, Jake by my side, the gym teacher said something I wasn't anticipating.

"Addilyn could you please come to the field after school." I nodded my head not knowing what to say. When I turned to Jake to see if he knew what that would be about but he looked just as confused as I did. After I changed, Jake and I walked to the cafeteria to grab today's lunch then to our regular table outside. Sense the snow day all the snow melted and the temperature raised to a comfortable warmth. I walked out in my plain old jeans and baggy tee shirt and didn't even shiver.

I slid in the seat next to Lissa like I always did and Jake sat next to me. Lunch was as normal as It could be. We officially decided on Halloween plans. Turns out they were all waiting for me to say yes to the party to make it official. Then we decided on our costume. There were tons of suggestions like candy bars, Alice in wonderland, even sponge bob, but the group costume we decided on was the scoody doo gang. We had agreed that Lissa would be Velma, lily would be daphne, I would be scoody, Jake would be shaggy and Marcus would be Fred. But then Marcus decided that he didn't want to be Fred because Fred dates daphne and sense his sister was daphne it was weird. So that meant Jake was Fred and Marcus was shaggy. Then everyone was satisfied.

English went by fast. We just had to write a paragraph about why writing is a good career. My reason was so introverts like me can tell a story with out actually talk to another person. This earned me a chuckle from Mr. Wesley when I handed it in. Even though I hadn't written much I still got a 100. My mind was some where else for the remaining periods. I couldn't help but wonder why the gym teacher wanted to talk to me. I didn't even know what to call him other than the gym teach or the coach. All I knew is that he was one of three gym teachers and he also coached every sport in the school. The end of the day couldn't have come sooner.

Jake and Marcus took me to the field sense they had football. When the coach saw me he walked over to me and dismissed Jake and Marcus, telling them to go warm up. This made me even more nervous then before. He watched the players for a minute before he spoke. "Addilyn have you ever thought about teaching dance?" He asked still keeping his eyes on the players. "I assisted at my studio in Canada." I squeaked. Why did he want to know if I taught dance? He finally turned to face me. He had a scruffy beard thick eyebrows. It was weird to see him up close he had always been at the front of the gym instructing while I stayed in the back with Jake.

"Well were you any good?" He asked. He caught me by surprise again. The tone in his voice made it sound as though he actually cared. I blinked. "I had trouble at first but I got used to it." I explained. It was true teaching wasn't my favourite at first. In fact i hated it. I hated having to talk and be in charge, my mom refused to let me quit and eventually I started to realize it wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be in my head.

Then this gym teacher surprised me again. He smiled. I had never seen him smile, not once. he had always had a permanent straight face that never moved. "Well then Addilyn Blake, how would you like to teach my football team ballet?" He asked. Wow this man is just full of surprises. Me teach a bunch of high school football players ballet? That sentence made no sense to me. Why would he want me to teach them anyway? Surly he could hire a professional or something. Anything would be better than a small, quiet, high school student who had only been an assistant.

"I've read articles on football players and dance and how it improves balance and agility and sense were losing every game we play I figure it's worth a shot." I nodded and cleared my throat. "I guess I can try to teach them." I decided. What was the harm in trying to get the football players in shape? They would win some games and Jake and Marcus would stop pouting. He smiled again then stuck out his hand for me to shake. Once I did he shouted for the boys to come in. They all took a knee around the coach and I. He looked at them all sternly the gestured to me.

"Meet your new team mate." The coach said. There was a couple different responses. Some guys got mad that I a petite girl was joining. Some players just laughed. Jake and Marcus' eyes nearly popped out of their heads. coach rolled his eyes then blew the whistle hanging around his neck, and to my surprise they all went quiet.

"Let me explain before for you get your nickers in a knot. She's here to teach you to dance." This got even more of a response than when he told them I was there teammate. They were a lot of groans and refusals. I frowned slightly. Why didn't they want to learn how to dance? I looked at Marcus and Jake for a better response and like always they didn't let me down. They were starring at me with big grins. They might have been a little fake but I didn't care.
