Destiny’s POV

I woke up the next morning in Chres’s bed. I rolled over expecting to see Chres but was crushed when he wasn’t there. I sat up and saw a note sitting on his nightstand. I grabbed it and smiled.

Went to the gym with Brandon. You looked so peaceful so I decided not to wake you. Will see you when I get back.

P.S. Made breakfast for you. It’s in the microwave :)

I got out of bed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. I stopped in my tracks when I saw Oj sitting on the counter drinking orange juice. He gave me a Cheshire cat smile and I rolled my eyes. I walked past him and went to the fridge.

“What? No good morning?” He smirked at me and I closed the fridge heading for the microwave. I opened it and found it empty. I closed it and turned to Oj. I saw the empty plate next to him and anger rose to the surface. I tried to push it down when he noticed me staring at the plate.

“Oh was that for you?” He said sarcastically giving me another smile and looked up and down my body.

“You are such an asshole.” I turned towards the stove and started making myself breakfast. A minute later I felt Oj standing behind me and I turned to him.

“What do you want?” He put his hand to his chest pretending to be hurt.

“I just wanted to help.” I pushed him away and his eyes widen in surprise.

“I don’t need your help. I don’t need or want anything from you. I can’t stand you and I hate your guts. You were always such a prick. I’m tired of pretended that I can actually stand having you here. The only reason I’m somewhat nice to you is because my mom is happy to see everyone. No one can stand you. Even in high school. I was the only girl who actually put up with your shit. You want to know why? Because I felt sorry for you but not anymore. Just leave me the hell alone.” Oj’s eyes filled with anger and his fist balled up

“Shut up” Oj mumbled

“What you can’t handle the truth. That’s not even half-”

“I said shut the hell up you bitch!” Oj yelled getting in my face. I backed away and looked at his fist and then his eyes

“Or what? You’ll hit me. Go ahead.” I waited for him to make a move. I knew he couldn’t hit me even if he wanted to. He left the room and headed upstairs. I heard his door slam and I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. I turned off the stove, suddenly losing my appetite. I heard my phone ringing and I ran upstairs to answer it. I saw it was Chres and smiled before I answered it.

“Hey. Where are you?” I asked answering the phone.

“Morning to you too.” Chres said laughing

“Sorry. I just miss you.”

“I miss you too. Me and Brandon are at a mechanics right now. Brandon’s car broke down and we couldn’t fix it so we are stuck here. He said it will take about four hours to fix.”

“Four hours! What am I supposed to do for that long? Mom is at treatment until six. Dave and Wilson are at work and Morgan and Pam are out shopping.” I whined into the phone.

“I know. I’m sorry but I’ll be there as soon as I can and then we can do whatever you want.” I sighed into the phone

“Fine. See you soon. Bye.”

“Bye.” I hung up the phone and laid back on my bed. What am I going to do for four hours? I sat up and grabbed my laptop. I started working on a paper due next month for one of my classes. I really didn’t want to do work but I had nothing else to do. I plugged in my ear buds and started working. I had been typing for two hours when I heard a loud crash from downstairs. I slowly got off my bed and walked towards the door. I opened it and Oj was kneeling on the floor in front of my door. He looked up at me and his eyes were blood shot.
