With the shard back where it belongs, except for the four small pieces around our necks. We headed back up into orbit around the moon. "We did it; we saved the earth from sheer catastrophe," I said into the comms unit. "Yeah, I guess we did," Aaron replied. As far as I was concerned the threat of a Hive invasion of Earth was gone. The hive no longer have a way to siphon the light of traveler, which in turn means that they can't invade without the light disintegrating them. Then a light popped up on my dashboard. "Incoming communication sir," Captain stated to us. "Any recognizable source?" I asked.
"Yes sir, it's the vanguard." He said.
"Patch them through," I replied.
"Hello, James are you there?" He asked.
"Yeah, who am I speaking to?"
"It's Cayde I just wanted to say, excellent work, the Speaker tells me that the travelers light is returning."
"That's good news, glad to hear all the bullets weren't for nothing."
"When you get back, drinks are on me." He said then concluding our conversation.
Each of us took our ships out of the orbital dock and flew back to the city. "So, drinks?" I said hoping to start a conversation. "Sounds good, Cayde had us all on the same comms channel," Cameron said to me. "Tell me, what's a drink?" I asked.
"Don't worry too much; it's just a beverage. I'm curious, I've never seen an Exo at one of the bars in the tower before." She said.
"Maybe you're just not there when they are; I know a couple of Exos who go to a few of the bars in the city center," Aaron said in reply.
"Really?"
"Yeah, Sidriks you've been quiet, are you coming with us?" Aaron asked.
"I don't think having a former Fallen Captain roam the city streets at night is such a good idea." He replied.
"Oh come on, I'll be there with ya." Cayde chimed in.
"Alright, I suppose I'll go with you for a drink." He said reluctantly.
We then exited our ships to the tower plaza with Cayde waiting for us. "Ah yes, the fire team of the hour, great work with that shard thing." He said. "This calls for a celebration, come on, I know a place." He said walking over to the tower north.
All of us followed him close behind walking through the tower north over to the large blast doors. "Cayde where are we going?" I asked.
"We're going to a bar downtown; I know the owner personally." He said with a note of confidence.
"Hopefully I don't get badgered when we get down there," Sidriks stated aloud.
"Don't worry; you have three guardians and a member of the vanguard here. They'd have to be out of their mind to even attempt to badger you." Aaron said to Sidriks hoping to calm his nerves.
We all got in an elevator on the right side of the other section of the tower. Cayde then pushed the button to get us to go down to the city streets below. "So." He started to say as the elevator opened up to a large window. "How many of you have gone to the city streets before?" He asked. His question was met with silence by all of us. "Ok, so consider this a field trip class." He said jokingly. I snickered at the thought of Cayde being in charge of a small group of kids.
We got to the bottom floor of the elevator shaft with it then opening to a large road.
"Well, you aren't allowed a mile within the tower unless you have permission to be here. You don't need an access code, but other people who reside in the city do." He stated in reply.
