We continued driving down the nearly empty highway. "You alright?" The driver asked me.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I stated looking back over to my friend.
"Is this your first time down in the city?" He asked still looking at the road.
"Yeah, how can you tell?" I asked.
"Well, you friend is passed out drunk, and frankly I can smell some on you as well." He said.
"Do you come across people like this often?" I asked.
"Well, yes. People need to get rides to places, and this is the only taxi service in the city. People come out drunk all the time. You don't really have that happen to you, but regular people yeah." He replied.
"Ok, so how can you tell?" I asked him again.
"I don't see any guardians down here often, but when they come down here, it's typically for celebration." He replied.
"No, I mean how did you know it was my first time here?" I asked.
"Well, you had Cayde with you. So I'm guessing you had no idea as to where you were going." He replied.
He then pulled up to the gates of the tower area. "Ok, tower gates." He said. "Sorry I can't take you in any further, I don't have a permit to go in here."
"Ok, thank you for the help," I said exiting the car and heading around to the back. I opened the door and picked Cameron out of the back. With her in both my arms, the cab driver closed the back door and drove off.
I then looked down at the face of my sleeping friend. Her white hair flowing through the wind of the night, and her eyes firmly shut. She's just as beautiful as the day I saw her. I smiled and started walking toward the tower. Even with all the armor, she's remarkably light.
The road to the tower is long and fairly straight however it isn't paved. It's a rocky dirt road that heads up to the tower. It's surrounded by a dense forest with some creatures running and flying through it. This place is rather serene, I like it. Why didn't I know about this place before? I guess I never got the chance to go down here to see it for myself. I should take some more time to see the planet that I call home.
Ghost then faded into existence next to me. "So what about this stranger that called us on the moon?" He asked.
"What about her?" I asked looking over to him.
"She sounded urgent when she talked about an enemy greater than the hive." He said. "So don't you think we should go speak with her?" He asked.
I glanced back down at Cameron then over to ghost. "I suppose you're right, she did sound rather concerned," I said as we kept walking forward. This stranger then popped back into my head. Who is she? What does she want? I'm sick and tired of having only questions.
After that thought, I had a fantastic idea. "Hey, ghost?" I asked.
"Yeah, what is it?" He stated in reply.
"Do we happen to have any blank books around the tower?"
"I'm not sure, but I think that Ikora might have a few. Why do you ask?"
"I don't want other guardians to go through the same troubles that I have, you know with all of the stupid questions."
"So you intend to write a book about all of your discoveries?"
"Exactly."
"Ok, we're about five hundred meters from the tower elevator. So why did you want to take her home anyway?"
