13. Hello Retaj

Amelia's Pov

I was sitting on the beach with my toes in the sand and my phone kept ringing.

I took a deep breath to control my voice and answered. "Hello?"

"Amelia! Where are you? It's been..40 minutes."

I wiped a tear from my eye. "I'm so sorry, i don't feel well at all. I meant to call but I, I fell asleep."

"Hey no worries, want me to come over?"

"Um. No it's okay, I don't want to get you sick."

"If you're sure. I'll call you tomorrow?"

"Yep. Bye." I hung up the phone and stood up.

I wiped the sand off of my outfit and walked back home in darkness.






Three days.

It's been three days of me being a hermit.

I locked all the doors and windows. Closed all the blinds.

Ignored doorbells and knocking.

Ignored phone calls and texts from Ashton, Michael, and Cat.

No calls from my parents.

No calls from Calum..

The only person I've talked to is Retaj.

I was so excited that someone who actually knew me was coming to visit me.

I met Retaj last year and we instantly clicked. Like I've known her my whole life.

She landed today and I'm picking her up at the airport.

I got ready and dressed casual.

I planned on making a run for it to my car just in case anyone saw me.

I don't know why I'm avoiding everyone but I'm an introvert in all honesty. I need to charge and be alone from all of this chaos.

I opened the door and saw Michael on my bottom step.

Shit.

"Michael, hi-"

"Amelia why haven't you answered my calls? Your front door? I was worried."

"I know." I stepped out and shut my door. "I'm sorry Michael, but there's things I don't understand and I just needed to be alone."

"I guess I get it. Where are you headed to now?"

"Amelia! Amelia hey!"

I looked pass Michael and saw Ashton sticking his head and hand out his car window.

"Hi Ash." I smiled and waved.

I looked back at Michael. "Um I'm going to the airport, to get my friend."

"Let us come with," he offered.

"No it's fine really."

"Look," he grabbed my hand. "The Sydney airport is huge, you'll never find your friend alone."

I gave in. "Okay, ya thanks."

"Plus I just want to spend some time with you." he grinned.

I blushed.

He held on to my hand and walked me to Ashton's car.



When we got to the airport it took about 30 minutes to find Retaj.

Then I finally saw her by the gift shop.

"Retaj!" I squealed.

She turned around and ran towards me. "Amelia ah!"

We jumped into a hug and started laughing. "I can't believe you're here!"

"I can't believe I'm here!"

I smiled. I turned around to introduce.

"Retaj, this is Michael. Michael, Retaj."

She eyed him and smiled. "So you're the Michael I've heard so much about."

Michael smiled at me and I blushed. "Oh really?"

I turned to Ashton quickly. "Ashton Retaj, Retaj Ashton."

Ashton showed off his cute dimples and smiled. They shook hands. "Nice to meet you."

She smiled back. "Nice to meet you too."

They stared at each other for a while, "Um. So." I interrupted. "Retaj let's go get you unpacked and plan something fun for tonight."

" Sounds great!"







We got to my house and when I opened the door I saw Calum on the floor covered in blood.
