14. Digging Deeper

Amelia's Pov

Retaj screamed and dropped her bags. Calum was on the floor groaning.

I got down and pushed his hair back and took his chin in my hand. The blood was dry.

I looked into his eyes and they were scary. Or scared.

"Calum" I said in a soft voice. "What happened to you?"

"I couldn't go home. So I came here."

"Calum what happened to you?"

He shot his eyes at Retaj.

"Um.." she looked around.

I lifted my arm up and squeezed her hand to let her know everything was okay. "Retaj can you go run a bath for him. Upstairs the third left."

She nodded picked up her bags and left.

I turned around on my knees and leaned forward and shut the front door then looked back at Calum.

"Explain."

"I went home after our conversation. I - I looked up that stupid, Gossip Girl show."

"You saw Chuck.." I felt awful. I didn't know he'd take it personally.

He sighed. "I went to go drink. I ran my stupid mouth. Got in a fight."

He looked up at me. "You were right. That's exactly who I am. But I don't want you to see me that way."

"I don't." I whispered.

"You don't?"

"You should have skipped to the ending of Gossip Girl." I smiled. "Chuck ends up with the girl. For good."

He smiled only for a second then looked down. "I wish I could tell you."

"Tell me what?"

"About what happened. About why Michaels so nice to you. Why I'm here why I'm always here."

"Calum you can tell me anything.."

"But I can't. If you knew you'd never forgive me."

"That's not true-"

Retaj slowly walked down the steps. "Um the baths all..ready and stuff."

I smiled at Retaj. "Okay,"

Retaj walked to the living room. I got up to get a towel from the closet door in the hallway.

When I got the towel I came back to the front door and Calum was gone.

I walked into the living room and saw Retaj. "Sorry about that."

"Wow when you talked about Calum I didn't expect this."

"Neither did I."

That night Ashton called to invite Retaj and I to hangout with Cat Luke Him and Michael.

I really didn't want to go. Not without Calum, it felt wrong.

But Retaj really wanted to go, and see Ashton.

We got ready and left, we all went to grab dinner but I didn't feel very hungry.

My phone vibrated and it was from Calum.

Calum: Let me save you.

Me: What?

He replied in seconds.

Calum: You don't look like you're having very much fun.

I looked all around me. Was Calum here?
