21. Big News

Amelias Pov

I awakened with blurry eyes and rubbed them gently. I hated that feeling you get when waking up from crying yourself to sleep.

My eyes became more clear and I noticed that I was in my room. I looked down at the floor and saw Calum laying on his back with his eyes wide open.

I smiled. "Morning." I said softly.

He turned his head to the side and smiled wide. "Good morning."

I felt bad. "You didn't have to stay here all night..on the floor and all."

"It's okay, I didn't mind."

"Calum?"

"Yes Amelia?"

"Can you come here.."

His face turned a little pink and he grinned.

He got up from the floor and I wiggled my way to the other side of my bed, he got under the covers next to me and wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled closer. Being in Calums arms felt more safe, real and like a home then my own home abd I wanted it to always be like this.

"I like this." he whispered.

"I do too." I kept silent for a moment trying to word this right. "Um.. do you, know why I use to..do that?"

"Do what?"

"Um.."

He looked at me confused then his mouth turned to a frown. "Oh." he lightly grabbed my wrist and softly rubbed his thumb over the scars. "That."

"Yeah, that."

He took a deep sigh then kissed my wrist and set it back down. "I uh..no. I don't know why. I'm sorry."

I had this feeling that he wasn't entirely telling the truth but I didn't want to push. "Oh, alright."

     Calum and I talked for a while about a lot of things when he decided he should go, he walked down stairs and I shortly did as well after.

I went to the living room and saw Retaj and Ashton on the floor covered in blankets asleep.

I coughed loudly and Ashton woke up and lifted his head. "Oh, hey Amelia!" he whispered jolly.

I waved. "Hi."

He slowly got out of the covers trying not to wake Retaj. He stood up and walked over to me. "I um. I heard, what happened last night."

My eyes got big. "Does Retaj know?"

"No. no I didn't think it was my place to tell."

"Thanks." I looked down. "So you and I were good friends yeah?"

He smiled. "We still are."

I smiled back. "Well tell Retaj I'll be back later."

"Where Ya goin?"

"For a walk."

"You okay?"

"Yeah, just need air."

He nodded. "Alright, see you later."

I walked a ways to get to the beach and saw Cat there with a cigarette in her hand and her short hair blowing in her face.

I walked down further to get closer and she dropped her cigarette and hurried it in the sand then looked around to see if anyone saw.

I coughed feeling a lump in my throat. "I got your text."

"Clearly, or you wouldn't be here."

I looked away feeling stupid. "Why did you want to meet up?"

"There's still things that you don't know."

My heart clenched. I don't think I could handle anything else. "Like what?"

"It's about your mother. Something that I only know."

"What? Wh-what about her? Cat please."

"I'll tell you, for a price."

"Anything.."

"Get me back with Luke."

I didn't say anything.

"Invite everyone over tonight, tell Luke I have big news. Text me when it's done and I'll come in with my ..news, you go along with it."

"News? What kind of news?"

"It won't be true so don't act shocked. play along, if it works, which it will, I'll give you information."

"Deal.."

I set up a gathering at my house and everyone was showing up.

Retaj was here and I still hadn't had time to talk to her, Ashton came back, Luke, and Calum. We sat around and I did as told.

"I ran into Cat today.."

Luke glared at me. "And?"

"She uh.. she had some pretty big news.."

I sent her a text and there was a knock on my door immediately.

I got up and answered it with Cat barging in, tears all over. "Cat! Are you okay?" I couldn't even tell if it was part of her news or not, but she was good. But.. if it's depressing news, god what did I get myself into.

Luke stood up "Cat?"

She breathed fast and cried more. "I'm so so sorry Luke.."

No one said anything. "Luke, I'm pregnant."

 

My eyes got big and she looked at me.

What have I done.

Sorry this sucks I'm so stressed and feel awful I really hate when writing sucks but there's shocking news next chapter then after that huge romance with Amelia and Calum! you guys are the best your comments make my day, love you all x
