By the time Eren brought you home, it was nearly five in the morning. Thank goodness you didn't have neither school nor work today. No amount of caffiene would have gotten you through anything. Since you fell back asleep in the car on the way home, it was Eren who carried you in. He laid you on your bed and tucked you in. Exhausted, Eren crashed on the couch for the next few hours. He would have actually curled up with you, but he didn't want to seem like a closet pervert.
Not yet anyway.
Sometime around nine in the morning, you woke up. The air was chilly, but actually not as cold as before. To be honest, it was kind of a shame since the cold gave you a perfect excuse to curl up on the couch and read a book while sipping on a mug of hot cocoa.
After you showered and finished freshening up, you headed to the kitchen to make yourself a bowl of microwave oatmeal. It wasn't long until you noticed Eren passed out on your sofa. You were actually quite surprised to see him here. Carrying a sly smirk on your face, you silently padded over to where Eren was sleeping and leaned over, bringing your head lower and lower until your lips pressed to his. They were soft against yours and he seemed to actually be returning the kiss in his sleep.
"Rise and shine..." you said after you pulled back, the smirk never leaving your face.
Eren slowly opened his sleepy eyes and squinted up at you, his eyes narrowed to strained slits. "(Y/n)? What are you doing up so early?"
"Like Mikasa said before," you responded matter-of-factly. "We otakus don't need sleep."
With a groan, Eren actually rolled over facing away from you and buried his face in a pillow, his messy hair sprawled across the surface. "Don't remind me of that woman right now... you two otakus may not need sleep but this one does."
"I'm afraid I have to," you said. "Unless you get your ass out of bed and continue with your slave work, your sister will skin you alive from the looks of it, and not in a loving way."
That seemed to hit Eren. He sighed and sat up. "I guess you have a point there. Alright... I'm up..." Eren stood and arched his back, bringing his hands behind his head as he stretched.
"Can I use your shower?"
You nodded. "It's on the door next to my bedroom. Everything you need should be on the cabinets."
"Thanks," Eren said. He made his way to the bathroom but at very last second, he paused and gazed at you over his shoulder. "You know... you can join me if you like. You don't have to wait out here."
Thrown off by his sudden offer, you froze and blushed briefly before transitioning into a grin. A laugh escaped you and you shook your head. "Come on, get ready. I'll have coffee ready."
---------------------------------------------------------
An hour later, after breakfast, you and Eren headed over to Mikasa's house. Ironically, she was fast asleep on her couch curled up in a blanket. Before working on the bookshelves which seemed easy until you looked at the amount of books there were, he warned you of how cranky his sister got and strongly suggested that you don't wake her. You nodded and took a seat close to Mikasa, quietly playing Solitaire on your phone while you waited around. All was peaceful for the first two hours until you felt a blow to your side, knocking you to the ground. You yelped at the pain and looked to see a murderous look on the raven-hair's face."Good morning to you too," you said casually. This kick was actually not as bad as the last.
Once Mikasa realized it was you, she shook her head and a calm exterior took place. "Sorry," she said, helping you up. "I have the tendency to attack things close by whenever I wake up. Nothing personal."
You waved it off and fixed yourself. "No worries."
"Where's my brother?" She asked.
"Working on your bookshelves," you replied pointing with your thumb. "Do you plan on assigning him any more chores today?"
"Hmm..." Mikasa pondered on that consideration. "Other than the dishes, no. I think after this, he'll finally learn his lesson."
"But what did he do?" You asked but instead of answering, Mikasa padded over to the kitchen, grabbed a cold mountain dew energy drink from the fridge, and took a long gulp of it. When she returned, you two watched some more anime. Neither of you spoke a word. Mikasa was too sleepy and tiredness was catching up to you as well. Not to mention the couch was super comfortable.
Sometime around early noon, Eren finally finished with all his chores and collapsed next to you on the couch.
"Am I done yet?"
Mikasa snapped herself upright, trying not to fall asleep. "Yes, brother. You are dismissed."
"Oh good..." Eren actually army crawled toward your lap, using your leg as a pillow. Not exactly knowing how to react to this sudden gesture, you awkwardly petted Eren's head. You must have done something right since he was practically purring like a kitten.
"So what now?" You asked.
"Good question," mumbled Eren.
"Well... how about we head to IHOP?" Mikasa suggested.
Eren propped his head up as soon as he heard IHOP. "You know, that actually sounds like a good idea. But I got to head to work in a couple of hours."
"It doesn't take long to get a bite to eat, Eren," Mikasa said.
"True..."
"In that case... I probably should get back home then..." you said.
Shocked at your response, Eren looked at you, concerned. "Why? You don't like pancakes or something?"
"Oh no! I'm fine with pancakes!" You said. In fact, you loved pancakes with an infinite passion.
"It's just that I don't want to interfere, you know? I mean, go ahead and have your brother-sister time or whatever it is typical siblings do!" You laughed nervously.
"Honestly, (y/n), don't talk nonsense..." Mikasa said giving you a strange look.
"Yeah... it would be nice if you came..." Eren gave you a little smile.
A wave of relief came over you. It felt nice to actually be wanted for your company and not a trophy. There were times you were invited to things just to prove how popular the host was.
"Okay..." you said with a smile. "Let's go then."
