Chapter 13 - What's up with them?

Cyd's P.O.V.

It was now monday and yesterday me, Shelby, Naldo and Barry hung out together in the garage lab. Shelby and Barry acted kind of weird though and me and Naldo noticed that. I was waiting for Shelby to get her books from her locker.

"Shelbs... I've been thinking about something... you said that in the plan you has made for our future we are going to marry best friends.... and like if I get together with Naldo doesn't that make you have to date Barry? I mean... you don't want that right, so why are you then so into helping me to get Naldo?" I said.

"Well I mean... it's not like you're gonna be with Naldo for your entire life right?" She said and laughed nervously as she closed her locker.

"I don't know that Shelbs, What if we are meant to be together and that's why my 4th grade crush never went away. You know we can always jump to the future and see if I'm married him or not" I said.

"Well true, I mean you guys belong together and don't worry about me, I'll stand being with Barry if I have too. I mean he's a good friend" She said but acted kind of weird. It was like she didn't had any problem with having to date Barry and I mean Barry is the most boring person we know.

"Shelbs you don't have to date Barry... I mean if you don't want but... The thing about marrying best friends might be hard because one of us might not like the best friend we get and...." I said.

"No no, I will do it because our plan is going to become true. I'll do it for you because you like Naldo" She said.

"Shelbs.... Don't force yourself into dating Barry unless you really want that for real" I said and sighed.

She didn't answered and we walked quietly to class. The day went and right as school ended Shelby walked out without even saying goodbye. I walked over to Naldo who stood alone at his locker.

"Hey Naldo, what's up?" I asked.

"Hi Cyd. I told Barry to wait for me while I got my backpack from my locker but he just walked off. That's nothing like him" He said.

"That's so weird... Shelby did the exact thing to me. She's been acting all weird the whole day and now she just walked out and ditched me. What if they're going to meet up with eachother? I mean... they did see that movie together last saturday in the garage for some reason. They are hiding something from us which they shouldn't because we're their best friends" I said.

"That might be possible... Anyways, I'm going to the mall to get some t-shirts for new Naldo tee's. Wanna come with me?" He said.

"Oh yeah sure" I said and smiled.

We walked out from school together and to the mall. As we arrived inside we walked to the Urban Bro store and Naldo got his t-shirts. After that we decided to get some smoothies. We walked to the smoothie kiosk but as soon as we got there, I spotted Shelby and Barry abit away.

"Naldo look! They are hanging out together" I said and looked in their direction.

"Oh yeah, hi gu..." He started to yell but I quickly put my hand over his mouth and pulled him down behind the smoothie kiosk.

"Be quiet Naldo! This could be our moment to find out what they are hiding" I whispered and he nodded.

We watched them walk over to the photo booth and followed them quietly. As they got inside the booth we stopped outside and some flashes went of inside. A picture strip came out and in that moment the curtain started to open. Before I could even react someone grabbed my hand and pulled me in behind the photo booth. I turned my head to see that it was Naldo and opened my mouth to say something but before I could do it I heard Barry and Shelby's voices from the other side of the photo booth.

"That's such cute photos. I really like the one were I kissed you on the cheek." Shelby said.

"Me too" Barry said.

"Barry... I hate keeping us a secret. I know you don't want to but I think Cyd is on to us. This morning we had a conversation were I kind of hinted that I didn't had any problem dating you and as far as she knows I'd never do it. She has then looked at me really suspicious the whole day..." Shelby said.

"I kne...!" I said abit to loud but Naldo put his hand over my mouth to make me quiet.

"Wait? Am I crazy or did I just heard Cyd's voice?" Shelby said and looked around.

"Maybe she's coming this way, we should get going" Barry said nervously.

"Yeah I guess but what about what I said? Are you ready to tell them? I mean you don't like to keep secrets from Naldo right?" Shelby said.

"Well honestly I don't, I'll think about it okay?" Barry said.

"Okay sweetie" Shelby said and they walked away.

As they had dissappeared me and Naldo got out from our hiding place.

"Naldo.... do you understand what this means. They've been dating behind our backs!" I said.

"Yeah... I wonder why Barry is so afraid of telling me... I mean I'd just be happy for him. After all he had a crush on her when we were younger and I guess it never really went away" Naldo said.

"I have to admit that I didn't saw that coming since Shelby has friendzoned him forever. I wonder what Barry did to make her realize she likes him back. Like I can't believe I'm saying this but I need Barry's help with love" I said.

"Me either.... wait a sec, you need Barry's help with love? Why?" He said.

"Well he obviously got out from the friendzone and I'm kinda friendzoned by someone and I need to know how he got out from it" I said.

"Oh, You like someone?" He asked.

"Well you could say that" I said.

"So uhm... should we tell them that we know about them dating?" He asked.

"I guess, let's go to the lab and see if they walked there" I said.

Naldo nodded and we left the mall and walked towards the Marcus' house and the garage lab.
