Chapter 23 - I'll always have your back

Naldo's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes and noticed that I was in a hospital room. I saw my left leg being in a cast and in a upwards position and my right hand were all bruised. I had a huge headache and felt that I had some bandage around my head as well. All the memories from yesterday came back to me. The park, Asher being violent towards Cyd and trying to kiss her, me attacking him and him pushing me out on the street were I got hit by a car. Suddenly I snapped out from my thoughts by a loud snore. I turned my head and saw Cyd. She was asleep in a chair next to the bed in the most uncomfortable position, but if anyone could fall asleep in a chair, it would be her. I noticed that she held something close to her inside of her arms that looked like a fedora hat. Wait a sec isn't it my hat? All of a sudden the door opened and in came a nurse.

"Oh you're awake. How are you feeling?" She said.

"My head feels like it's going to explode" I said as I sat up.

"I see well you got a concussion so." The nurse said.

"No...no... no...." Cyd's voice interrupted.

Both me and the nurse looked over at her. She was talking in her sleep.

"She's still here... Such a stubborn girlfriend you've got. But at the same time it's cute how much she cares" The nurse said.

"Uhm.... yeah..." I said abit confused.

"She were so determinded to get in here yesterday and I felt so bad when I had to keep her in the waiting room but it's my job you know. I understands her though, it's not easy when you don't know if someone you love is going to survive or not. Oh well. I'm going to let the doctor know that you're awake. Do you want some breakfast?" She said.

"Breakfast would be nice" I said and smiled.

"I'll get some for the both of you. I'll be back soon" She said and walked out.

As the nurse had left I thought about what she had said. Why did she thought that Cyd was my girlfriend? I mean, not that I minded it but still. Had Cyd said to her yesterday that I'm her boyfriend or? But why? Does she likes me as more than a friend or?

"Don't hurt him Asher! Don't hurt him...." Cyd continued to say in her sleep.

I looked over at her. She looked so peaceful and cute.

"Don't die.... Noo!" She said as she fell out from the chair and down at the floor.

I watched her sit up on the floor.

"Ow... what the?" She said confused to herself.

"Are you okay Cyd?" I said slowly.

She turned her head around and looked up at me in the bed.

"N-Naldo... you're alive!" She said and stood up.

"Yeah... more or less" I said.

In her excitement she leaned down to me and hugged me. I hugged her back and held her close to me for a minute. When we finally pulled away she sat down on the edge of the bed.

"How are you feeling?" She said.

"My head hurts but other than that I'm fine." I said.

"Thank goodness... The next time I'm seeing Asher he's going to get a piece of my mind..." She said determined.

"Cyd... it's okay... All that matters to me is that he didn't hurt you... and that he didn't kissed you...." I said and looked into her eyes.

"Naldo... I don't know what to say... You saved me and I'm really thankful for that... It means alot to me... especially since I didn't wanted to have my first kiss with that jerk...." She said.

"I'll always have your back.... I care about you so much... You'll find someone better and have the best first kiss ever...." I said and slowly reached out and took her hand in mine.

We sat there and just looked into each other's eyes and all I ever wanted in that moment was to kiss her.

"Breakfast is served!" A voice said and interrupted our moment.

We both looked up to see the nurse being back with a breakfast tray which she put at the night stand table next to my bed.

"Ohh breakfast! I'm starving!" Cyd said excitedly.

"Goodmorning, slept well in that chair?" The nurse said.

"Eh it worked, not the most comfortable sleep I've got but it's a sacrifise that I had to make" Cyd said and chuckled.

"Yeah, a sacrifise to be by the side of your hurt boyfriend. You guys are so cute. Young love when it's the best. Enjoy your breakfast" The nurse said and walked out.

I looked at Cyd who were blushing and looked away from me. I smirked for myself and smiled.

"Why does she call us boyfriend and girlfriend?" I asked.

"That is not what it seems like.... cause we are only friends and... I just blurted stuff out yesterday because I was worried you'd die... and she wouldn't let me know anything and...." Cyd started to babble sounding really embarrassed.

"Cyd..." I said and made her look at me. "I don't mind that at all... You know I'm actually flattered. I mean if Cyd Ripley says to anyone that you're her boyfriend it's just an honor" I said and chuckled.

A smile spread on Cyd's lips and she let out a little a small giggle.

"You're such a weirdo, but that's why I like you" She said.

We then started to eat breakfast and later my parents came to the hospital. They talked with the doctor who said I'd have to stay one more night at the hospital. Later during the day Barry and Shelby also came to visit me.
