Naldo's P.O.V.
It was now over a month since the accident happened and I'm all recovered again. The past month Cyd has been a real angel. She visited me every day after school and then when I got back to school but had to go around with crutches she helped me to carry my tray in the cafeteria and when I needed to go up or down the stairs. Now my leg is good again and I'm so happy to finally be able to walk again. It was english class and we were having our presentations of a theme in a book we've read.
"Next up is miss Ripley" Mrs Brown said.
Cyd grabbed her paper and stood up. She slowly walked to the front of the classroom and cleared her throat.
"The friendzone. It's something that we all fear as not many makes it out from it. In the novel Alice is in love with her best friend Nate. She has been in love with him since they were little kids but he's always just seen her as a friend. I think many of us can relate to Alice's story as it's frequently common today. While reading this novel I personally could really relate to it. I've been in the friendzone since the 4th grade when I got to know this guy. It's now 6 years later and I still have the words biggest crush on him, even though people has told me to get over him. They use the qoute "once in the friendzone, always in the friendzone" and I used to believe in that. But reading about Alice's fight in the novel I've realized something. We shouldn't be so afraid of the friendzone. I mean, in my opinion I'd rather be with someone I really does know than just a random guy I just met. As I have known this boy for over 6 years I know I can trust him and like he's the sweetest boy I've ever met. So why is the friendzone something negative? If you think of it, all relationships starts by being friends. Sometimes it just takes a while to realize that your friend means something more to you. In my case it has been 6 years but I'm not giving up. Like Alice, I feel that we've got this connection that and even though I always used to punch him in the arm and shush him everytime he tried to speak to me back in 4th grade he stuck around. I think that must mean something right? I do understand why everyone is so afraid though. No one wants to get a no as they belives it will ruin their friendship. In my opinion most people can handle it and stay friends if they have such a good relation even if they get a no. So to sum this up. The friendzone might be scary but don't give up. Take a risk like Alice did because who knows, it might end up turning into a beautiful romance. I know that I'll never give up on my 4th grade crush. I feel that we belong together and that I'm pretty close to come out from the friendzone. The last month has kind of changed everything and even though car accidents is never good, I'm kind of happy this one happened because of how much closer it has brought me and my crush. Don't give up and have hope, being really close friends before turning it into something else is something positive. The friendzone is a part of how your relation has been growing and it's something that is meant to happen for a reason. I wouldn't change anything about me being in the friendzone, because without it, I'd never be were I am today. Right at the edge of getting out of it" Cyd said and smiled.
Everyone clapped and cheered. I got eye contact with Cyd and smiled at her. I felt butterflies in my tummy. I now knew that she was talking about me. What made it so clear was when she brought up the car accident. It's only me who has been in a car accident this last month and I agreed with what she said. It really had made us closer. The fact that she actually likes me back wouldn't sink in as this was all so surreal. I'm not in the friendzone anymore and I actually never even was. Gosh how could I be so stupid and not understand that I'm hat boy from the 4th grade?
"Thank you so much Cydney. That's all we have time for today. The rest of you will do it tomorrow." Mrs Brown said.
We all nodded and left the classroom. I walked up beside Cyd.
"That was amazing Cyd!" I said and smiled.
"Thanks Naldo... I was so nervous before it but once I was up there it all just came out from my heart." She said and smiled.
"I'm so proud of you" I said.
She smiled back and together we walked to our last period. Later as the school day ended Shelby and Cyd went to do some girl stuff. I told Barry I'd come to the lab later as I had something to do right now. As they all walked out from the school, I spotted Cameron, who Shelby had a crush on before, and his friend Leon and walked over to them.
"Hi I'm Naldo, I saw that you guys were looking for a third member for your band to the battle of the boyband competition in the mall on friday. I'd like to try out" I said and smiled.

Did you guys liked Cyd's presentation on the friendzone? I think it was really sweet 😊 And can anyone guess what I'm planning by the last two paragraphs of this chapter? With Naldo, Cameron and Leon? If not then check out the cast list! The actors might give you a clue 😉
