Chapter 28 - Asking her out

Naldo's P.O.V.

Me and the boys had just got off the stage after we had been presented as the winners.

"Okay we should really continue with the band because we rocked!" Cameron said.

"I agree! What do you think Naldo?" Leon said.

"That would be fun! But right now I need to go find a special person" I said.

"Oh you mean that girl you we're looking at during the whole concert? Is she your girlfriend?" Cameron said.

"Yeah... and not yet, but hopefully she'll be soon" I said and smiled.

"Ohh I see, well good luck man!" Cameron said.

"Yeah good luck Naldo!" Leon said.

I turned around and walked out from the backstage area and to the front of the stage. I spotted Cyd talking with Barry and Shelby abit away so I started to walk towards them but got stopped by two girls whom I recognized from school named Emma and Lily.

"Hi Naldo, we just wanted to say that you were so good up there!" Lily said and smiled.

"Yeah you were the best!" Emma said and smiled.

"Thank you girls" I said and smiled back.

"Oh and also Cyd told us that you two are dating, that's so cute!" Lily said.

"Oh... uhm... yeah..." I said quite surprised. Did Cyd actually tell them that we were dating? I looked over at her who now was being all alone as Barry and Shelby were nowhere to be seen.

"We shouldn't keep him here, he clearly wants to go see his girlfriend" Emma said.

"Yeah, we'll see you in school Naldo." Lily said.

The two girls said bye and left and I walked over to Cyd.

"Hi Cyd" I said and smiled.

"Hi Naldo, You were so amazing up there!" She said and smiled as she gave me a tight hug.

"Thanks, did you liked the song?" I said and hugged her back.

"Well surprisingly I did. I'm not the biggest fan off cheesy songs but your song was really sweet" She said and smiled as she pulled away from the hug.

"I actually wrote it for you...." I said and smiled.

"Aww that's so cute!" She said and smiled back.

"Cyd..." I said and bit my lip.

"Yeah? What is it Naldo?" She said.

"I'm hat boy from 4th grade aren't I?" I asked.

"Yeah, that took you long enough to realize" She said and chuckled.

"Sorry about that.... anyways I want to tell you something" I said and looked into her beautiful brown eyes.

"Sure, what is it?" She said and looked back into my eyes.

"I... I like you too... you know as more than a friend..." I said.

A wide smile spread on Cyd's lips and it made me smile as well. Gosh she really has the most beautiful smile in the world. It can really light up the whole town.

"So?" She said and smirked.

"Would you... would you want to go out with me tomorrow, like on a date?" I said.

"I thought you'd never ask, I'd really like that Naldo" She said and smiled.

I smiled back at her and felt my heart skip a beat. I just asked Cydney Ripley out and she said yes. Please don't let this be a dream. In that moment Cameron and Leon came up to us and asked if I wanted to come with them to get a burger to celebrate that we won. I asked Cyd if she wanted to join and then then the four of us walked towards the burger place. We had a really nice evening and Cyd and the boys seemed to get along really well which made me really happy as Cameron and Liam were my friends now. Barry is still my best friend though, he'll always be. I've known him since the 4th grade and we are like brothers. After a great night I walked Cyd home.

"I'll pick you up at 6 pm tomorrow for our date, is that okay?" I asked.

"That's perfect. I can't wait. Goodnight Naldo!" She said and tip toed up and gave me a kiss on my cheek.

She then turned around and walked towards the Marcus' house. I put my hand on the cheek she had kissed and smiled widely.

"Goodnight Cyd..." I said and watched her walk inside the house.

I then walked home as the luckiest guy in the world and that night I fell asleep with the biggest smile ever on my lip and the thought that after tomorrow Cyd might be my girlfriend.
