I couldn't place what had awoken me, but as my eyelids lifted and I turned my head I spotted a shadow moving across the room causing me to sit up startled.

The shadow stood at the foot of the bed. As soon as my instincts told me it wasn't Scott,I let out a scream. The figure jumped on to the bed and muzzled me with their hand. I tried to bite on it as I kicked them from beneath my covers.

"Sshhhh"

I gagged at the smell of intoxication and bad breath. Tears pricked my eyes as I panicked.

"You're still here. Despite you losing a fucken baby and all the scandal I stirred up."

Bradley, I stilled as I recognized his voice immediately. My fear morphed into obscene hatred as I looked up to his chin as he smelled my hair.

"He must love you or something..and if I take you to bed..every time he looks at you, he will see me."

I shoved him just as his hand slacked as he pondered his next move. I jumped up and swung the bedside lamp that landed on the side of his head causing him to fall flat on the bed, before I maneuvered out of the blankets and screamed, "you are insane if you think you can put your hands on me! SCOTT !! "

"You bitch!" he grabbed at me having quickly recovered from his injury, but I dived to the side of the room and made a run out the door. I had just made it to the staircase making a commotion over the music when I felt an elbow slam against the side of my head sending my body against the wall to my side. I collapsed from the pain. It hit me then that Bradley hit women. He grabbed my hair and dragged me in to the room on the side and pinned me to the ground before backslapping me. I kneed him in the balls which caused him to put his hand around my throat.

"I should kill you." he said. His eyes were menacing and I feared that he didn't realise he was choking me to the point of no return.

Neither of us saw it coming. I just felt Bradley's body move off of me as he was launched across the room. I coughed as I tried to sit up and regain my breath.

Bradley didn't have a chance against Scott. He punched him so hard Bradley's face contorted to the side. He launched himself on him and pulled his collar before hitting him again and again, blood appeared on his knuckles as he landed his blows.

Two other men raced in and pulled Scott off of Bradley's barely conscious state.

"What the hell is going on!" Reginald who went to check on Bradley asked.

Scott pulled himself away from the other guy who looked just as shocked.

"He tried to touch my wife!" Scott growled. He was mad. I'd never seen him like this. It even scared me. I didn't even deliberate what he had just called me.

"Are you bloody serious?" Reginald shook his head.

Scott launched himself at Bradley again when he saw him sit up and grab his jaw.

"Hold up cowboy" the men intervened." Let's let the cops handle him."

Scott shook his head and as he did he caught my eye. He seemed to immediately calm down as he raced to my side. He took the blanket throw from the bed behind me and wrapped it around my shaking body and cover my short shorts and t-shirt night wear.

"Are you okay?" he said. I nodded, biting my lip to stop from crying. It was like a wave of emotion hit me just then.

Scott fixed my hair before scooping me up and taking me out of the room, down the hall and into his.

As he laid me to bed and fetched me some water he was swearing a dozen obscenities under his breath.

There was a soft knock on the door and Larry appeared. Scott stepped out and I couldn't make out the conversation through the door.

When he returned he changed in to some sweatpants and t-shirt before sitting on the edge of the bed.

"What was Larry saying?"

Scott looked at me warily.

"Our lawyers think it best to avoid coverage of this. Bradley seems to have sobered up and after he gets medical attention he is on the first flight out to Dubai. "

I could tell Scott was trying to hold back his temper at the situation. I looked at him calmly.

"He was drunk." was all I could muster.

"That doesn't fucken excuse what he did." Scott growled. He sighed to release some anger as I starred at him.

"Thanks for saving me." I said reaching out and covering his hand.

Scott shook his head.

"I almost didn't hear you." he said regrettably, " we switched off the music because Lucas couldn't find his phone and he was leaving to get on a plane...If that hadn't happ-"

"Don't." I said shivering at the idea Scott was getting at.

"I should've watched every single person's move in this place while you were here."

"That would've been impossible."

"I should've had some guards."

"Around your friends?" I raised an eyebrow at the idea.

"I should've done something Rach." He swore.

I squeezed his hand. After a long period of silence Scott mustered the courage to ask.

"What did he do?"

I told him what I remembered and Scott listened without interrupting.

When I was done he got up and paced the room.

"He's right. I do care about you." He muttered more to himself. I only just heard him.

I watched him stop and turn to face me .

"Tomorrow we will organize to make sure you are really safe from this life of mine."

I could see the conviction in his eyes and I didn't question what he meant.

He pulled a blanket from the linen cupboard and laid on the couch at the bay window.

I wanted him to join me in bed but I was still shaking and didn't want him to know that. I was also a bit terrified of being touched.

As I watched him put his hand behind his head and stare up at the ceiling I realized being in his life was what made me feel safe.
