I rolled over and felt for my phone. My alarm was blasting and giving me an immediate headache. "Shut. Up." I grumbled pressing the screen until the sound sopped. I looked at my notifications, reading a message from Brenton.

It was a good morning text, but at the end, he was letting me know he wasn't going to be in school today. Wayside. I didn't reply, instead I pushed myself off the bed and quickly did a full routine.

I didn't want to argue with Brenton today, so I quickly replied, saying good morning. After dressing in jeans and a T-shirt, I walked into Sams room.

"Do you want to go to the fight club today?" I asked immediately sparking some interest in her.

"Who's fighting?" I shrugged and looked at her expectedly. "Yeah, lets go. I'll text Carson." I smiled and left her room.

My mom was walking Out of the bathroom and smiled. "Have a great day at school." I thanked her and walked downstairs. I didn't feel like going to school today, we had to stay in homeroom while the lower class members were testing.

After about thirty minutes, Sam trotted down the stairs her keys in hand, I smiled and picked up my lanyard. "Can we take my cat today?" I asked.

"Nope." She popped the 'p' causing me to roll my eyes. She hated not driving. We both picked up our school bags, in hopes of not giving anything away to our parents.

Sam, Carson, and I were all walking into a restaurant that was  underground. The reason that it was underground was because there was a underground fighting ring here. It screamed Fight Club.

"Sam, how are you and Tony?" Carson asked and she began about how they're not officially a thing, but their fuck-ship is good.

"How about you and Cason?" I asked while popping a French Fry in my mouth.

"He's amazing! He's so nice and so cute . . ."I tuned her rambling out and watched the fight. There were two women fighting, one was bloody and the other one didn't have a single scratch, but she was getting tired. I counted down to one in my head, knowing that the bloody one was waiting until the other girl missed a hit. Then, she went wild. So many punches were delivered that I lost count. Turns out the bloody one won the fight.

Something caught my eye.

"So leah, what do you think?" Carson asked and I shooed her with my hand.

"Yeah, sure." I said and got up. "I got to go see something." I told them and walked toward the two people.

"Of course it's real. It's Wayside. What do you expect?" Brenton told the guy and passed him a bag of white powder.

"How much?" The obvious coke head asked. If I shook him powder would fall from his nose like snow on Christmas morning.

"650. Whole bag." The guy grabbed a stack of cash and handed him the money. He walked away and I walked toward Brenton.

When he looked at me he glared and immediately clenched his fist. "Leah, why're you here?" He asked.

"I came with Carson and Sam to watch the fight. Why are you here?" I knew wayside was his thing but this was illegal.

"I told you. Wayside."

"I don't like this."

"I really don't care. You've known me since before wayside, it's been five years you really need to get used to it." He snapped, I walked closer to him so that I was able to be face to face.

"What if I'm not okay with it though?"

"Then you can leave. We'll go back to how we used to be. If thats actually what you want." I shook my head and leaned into his touch when he softly cupped my cheek in his hand. "Then get used to it. Don't fucking stress over it."

"That's impossible." He smiled down at me and kissed my lips softly. "I care too much."

I pulled away from Brenton and looked at the other two bags of cocaine that was bagged on a table. Brenton grabbed the area where my throat and jaw connected and used his finger to guide my eyes back to him. "You always have."

"Will you come over tonight?" I asked and Brenton looked at his watch.

"If it's not too late." He said. "I don't want to piss your parents off."

"Okay." I kissed his cheek one last time and walked to Sam and Carson. They were done eating. "You ready?" Sam asked and I looked back at Brenton. He nodded his head and I sighed before copying his actions.

We walked up to the parking garage and got in our cars. Sam and I drove home while Carson drove to her house, before going inside we double checked to make sure neither of our parents car were in the garage.

I walked into the living room in time to see tony walk in with Sam. My mom and dad were on the couch. Mom looked up at me and smiled. "Where's Brenton?" She asked.

"He's dealing with wayside." I said. My mom and dad know about wayside, my mom was the only adult to help out with Brenton and tony when things got to be too much when they were younger. My dad seemed to despise her nor for that.

"I don't like you being around him anymore." My dad said setting a glass on the table.

"You guys were okay with it before we started dating." I told them. I knew my voice got too loud for their liking when they gave me a strict look.

"It's not your choice." My dad snapped.

"It definitely is my choice who I see. Are you insane?" My dad looked at me like he was ready to hit me. Perhaps he would if tony wasn't in the room.

"You're going to allow her to talk to me like that?" He asked exasperated.

"It technically is her choice, though." My mom sided. "But, Leah, dont talk to your dad like that." She glared at me.

"Whatever." I said and walked upstairs to my room.

I played some music on my Beets Pill before changing my clothes. I used a baby wipe to wash off the makeup from today before pinning my hair in a messy bun.

I laid in bed while reading a book and listening to low life by Future and The Weeknd.

I heard my bedroom door open, I looked at the time and noticed three hours have passed. Brenton walked in, looking at me with an intense look.

"You're parents are cooking dinner. They said something about you being in trouble?" I rolled my eyes and rolled over on my stomach.

"They're aggravating. They don't want us together because of wayside." Brenton got on the bed behind me and rolled me so that I was on my back.

"I don't really care." He kissed my forehead. "As long as you and I want to be together, that's that." I smiled at him and shrugged.

"They're still my parents though."

"You're almost eighteen, baby."

"I know."
