Small Tooth's pov

I grabbed the gun from the dashboard and placed it in my waistband, then climbed out of the car. "You got your gun?" Brian asked and I nodded, he grabbed my hand.

"Who's place is this?" I asked looking around at the two story house. There were no lights on, but the streetlights lit everything in a golden glow.

"Some guy Grizzly told me about," he said as we walked closer to the door. "He's sketchy, so stay behind me."

"I don't-"

"Listen to me," he said looking back at me. I sighed and nodded before stepping behind me.

He used the barrel of his gun to knock on the door and I rolled my eyes, he always had to make a scene.

Brian cocked his head to the side and knocked again, this time louder. "I will blow a hole is this fucking door if you don't open it." Brian snapped.

Suddenly, the door opened and a girl stood in front of us. "Can i help you?" She asked skittishly.

"Where's Levi?"

"I - I don't know - know who you're talking about," she said stumbling over her words. I wanted to hug her.

I peeked around brian's arm and caught a glimpse of her before he used his elbow to shove me back. She was a short black girl, dark skin and beautiful chocolate eyes. Her hair was done in four different braids, but what really caught my attention was how uncomfortable she looked in her outfit - if that's what you could call it.

"Don't make me ask you again," brian threatened stepping closer to her. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him back a step. "Where's Levi?"

"I told you," she said. "He isn't - he isn't here."

"Right." Brian snapped. He reached forward and grabbed the girls arm, yanking her out of the house and tossing her into my chest. She squealed loudly and shoved away from me.

Before brian could enter the house, I stopped him and said, "what do you want me to do?"

"Take her somewhere." Was all he said before closing the front door behind him.

Awkwardness quickly filled the porch as we both stood there, I rocked back and forth on my heels before I worked up the courage to talk to her.

"So what's your name?" I asked the girl, smiling. She looked uneasy but followed me when i gestured towards the car.

"Marlowe," she said softly. "What's your - your name?"

"Ambrose," I said. "But everyone calls me Small Tooth."
