Vivian's pov
I walked up to the manor and shook my hands, even in the cold - cold for florida anyways - my palms still managed to sweat aggressively with nerves. I wiped my hands on my black jeans and knocked on the front door, almost immediately I saw a handsome face. I smiled at Ashton's dad and followed him inside when he gestured for me to come inside.
"Hello vivian." He said in his deep, scratchy voice.
"Hi." I said struggling to keep up with him, at least ashton would take in my short legs when he made me follow him. He walked up the stairs - I jogged - and then down a hallway. I remembered the elevator that Ashton and I rode to the very top floor when I first met his parents and wondered why we couldn't just take that instead of the stairs. Instead I had to try and keep up with his long steps for seven more minutes.
"Would you like anything to drink, Vivian?" He asked once we made it to the fourth story of the manor.
"I'm not twenty one." I said standing with him at the bar, he shook his head and pulled out a bottle of golden liquid, he poured too fast for me to read the name of the drink. "We're you a bartender before?" I asked watching his skilled movements.
"No." He said. "Just an alcoholic." I quickly snapped my hand over my mouth, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to laugh. Was it a joke? Was I going to get lectured on manors if I laughed? I wasn't sure so I just clenched my jaw and watched him salt the rim of a crystal cut glass.
"Here you go." He said passing me a glass, I took it and thank him. "Follow me." I huffed a deep breath and quickly started at a fast pace to keep up. I managed to not spill my drink for two more flights of steep stairs. I would call that skilled, actually.
"Would it be rude for me to ask why you insisted that I came over?" I asked. Ashton's dad looked at me over his shoulder and directly at me but he didn't say anything. Instead, he walked to a two door entrance and gestured for me to go in first. I started to open the door but he held out his hand, I put my glass in it.
"What am I doing here, Mr Collins?" I asked more persistently than before. If I actually knew his first name I wouldn't have second guess calling him by it, but when Ashton introduced us he said 'my dad', no name.
"Just go inside." He said. "You didn't drink any of your drink?"
"I was too busy trying to keep up with you." I said unable to help my aggressive tone. I knew that he was a part of greenland and that he probably had a whole guest house full of security, but i was trained to be wayside and honestly at this point I didn't care. I was mad that he wasn't telling me why I was at his house. I was cautious of the way he insisted on making me a drink when I said I was underaged.
"Okay." He said and nodded to the double doors again. I turned away from him and turned the golden handles, then I pushed both door open. The room was extremely dark, I couldn't see anything. I felt around for a light switch but couldn't feel one. "To your left." His deep voice caused me to jump and turn, glaring at him although I doubted he could see me do it. If he did he didn't say anything about it.
I reached to hand to the left feeling around and still found nothing. "Okay, what's going on?" I snapped completely turning towards him.
"Wall to the room on your left, Vivian." He said sternly. I took a deep breath and began feeling around for another entrance, this time on my left.
