I walked into the bedroom and immediately smiled, Brenton was laying on his stomach with his arms folded under the white pillow. My feet padded against the cushioned floor as I walked to the bed, sitting down beside him. I placed my hand on his back, the smooth texture sending heat into my skin.
"Brenton," I called softly, tracing my finger down his spine. "Baby."
"Leah?"
"Who else would it be?" I asked with a chuckle. He opened his eyes and looked at me, squinting his eyes. "I'm kidding." He smiled and rolled onto his back, placing his hand on my leg, I moved closer.
"What happened when you went home?"
"Um, well it turns out that I have a sister." I said. Brenton raised his eyebrows and sat up on his elbows. "Yeah, I know. Her names adyn and she was kicked out when she didn't want to be apart of the Jacksons."
"Is that why they took so long to tell you?"
"Yeah." I said. "My mom and dad started arguing about me, dad wanted to kick me out, my mom didn't. So I just left."
"Leah-"
"I'm okay." I said. "I just don't want to talk about it because if I talk about it, I'll start to cry."
"You're able to cry, love." I watched as he sat up and cupped my cheek in his hand, I smiled and leaned into his embrace.
"Can we just make dinner and watch a movie?" I asked. Brenton looked to the left, I saw his eyes connect with the clock on the wall.
"Actually, I made dinner reservations."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, come here." Brenton stood up and took my hand, he led me into the walk in closet and flipped on the light. He picked up a dress I never saw before. It was a simple black dress that seemed tighter on top and flowey on the bottom, it was spaghetti strapped.
"I know you have a couple dresses like this at your parents house, but Jinx said you might fit it."
"Thank you." I said with a big smile. "Can you tell me where we're going?"
"Nope." He gave me his signature lopsided smirk and bent down, picking up a pair of heels, once again, I didn't know where they came from. "Don't worry, they're Sams."
"Okay." I took everything he gave me and walked into the bathroom, I decided not to do much with my hair, I just left it down and sprayed my roots with dry shampoo for texture. I admired my wavy hair, it was easy to maintain and usually looked good without putting in too much effort, unless the Florida humidity decides to flop the party.
I put on a tiny bit of concealer to cover my blemishes and some mascara to my average length eyelashes. Once I was finished with my makeup I put on the dress and heels.
The right top left me feeling conventionally sexy, but the flowy bottom skirt left it breathable and cutesy. The black heels were simple, but not that comfortable, I took those off.
"Brenton," I called walking into our room. I walked into the closet and picked up a pair of black vans. "Me and heels are not a match."
"You look amazing." He said hugging me from behind, I smiled and turned to face him, I kissed his lips softly. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." I said and looked at his outfit, he wore a simple pair of sweats and a T-shirt, then finished the outfit with a pair of Air Force 1s. I traced the chain that was around my neck and looked up at him.
"Are we going to wayside?"
"Why do you ask?"
"You're dressed like you're ready to go on an assignment while im dressed like I'm ready to go to a dinner." I said. He took my head and led me into the living room. I looked out the sliding glass doors at the sun set view over the ocean.
