Brenton told me we had an hour long drive and that we'd stop for dinner half way through. I was still in my bad state of mind, following every word Brenton said to a T.
"Are you tired?" He asked me when I yawned. I shrugged my shoulders but felt the dizzy side effects of sleep deprivation. "If you want to sleep I'll wake you up for dinner."
I looked at Brenton and smiled. He was focused on the road, looking at me for a second before concentrating again. I took the time to admire everything about him, his straight nose, contoured cheeks and jaw line, even to his plump lips. He's right, I am insatiable.
I unbuckled my seatbelt, alarming him. "Leah. What're you doing?" His eyes found mine and I smiled. I moved my body to the far right of the passenger seat before leaning over the arm rest and laying my head on Brenton's lap.
"How is that comfortable?" Brenton asked taking his hand off the gear shift, he placed it on my head, running his fingers through my hair.
"It is." I said. I rolled over one more time, so that I was facing his stomach. I reached up and placed my hand under his T-shirt, tracing patterns on the smooth skin I leaned forward and peppered a kiss to his warm skin and then laid back down. I gathered a fistful of his T-shirt in my hand and cuddled up to him like I would a blanket.
Finally, sleep began taking over my mind and I felt my haziness alter to peaceful sleep.
Vivian's pov
I walked around Ashton's parents mansion, it was crazy big and my small, hick town self was marveling at the size. "I'm going to go grab my parents." Ashton whispered in my ear, I turned my head to catch his lips.
"Okay." He smiled and moved his hand from the small of my back. I walked around, spinning to catch the whole view.
"Vivian?" I turned and looked at the culprit who called me. She was a girl with brown hair and blue eyes, she was taller than me - no shock there - and wore a plain black dress.
"Depends on who's asking."
"I'm Lilly, one of Ashton's ex's." This time I looked her over again, she didn't look like me, she was the complete opposite, but pretty none the less.
"And I'm Vivian, Ashton's fiancé." I couldn't believe the menacing tone I held, but the nerve was sharp.
"I know." Lily said with a smile. "How is he?" This bitch.
"Happy." I said and went to turn around, she grabbed my arm, I turned and faced her. "Unless you are wanting to lose that polished hand of yours, I advice you to move and to move it real quick."
"I don't mean any harm, Vivian. I just want to speak." She told me after she snatched her hand. "Has he told you about his past?" His past doesn't change how I feel.
"Yes. Now if you'll excuse me. I need to find my fiancé." The word still tasted weird, but the look on her face gave me a chunk of satisfaction.
"He murdered multiple people, Vivian."
"No one is perfect." I told her catching her off guard. She was shocked that I could say such a thing.
"You're just like him." She said. "No wonder you two are so perfect together." I didn't know what to say, for what seems like the first time someone actually caught me off guard.
"He'll get you killed. His lifestyle is so dangerous and the things he does; he doesn't care who he hurts, even if he loves them." I almost laughed. Is she claiming that Ashton used to love her?
"Baby," I cooed. "I'm not afraid to die." With that being said, I shoved past her and went to search for Ashton.
I knew that he's hurt people, but how many people has he actually murdered? I slept with a murdered. I'm marrying a murderer. Not like you're any better, my cautious mind sneered.
