I rolled over in bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. My limbs were sore in the best way possible and I was surprisingly well rested. I looked at Brenton who was still peacefully asleep and smiled, I leaned over and kissed his lips softly, then climbed out of the tall bed. I stretched my arms and legs and sighed.
"I need coffee." I mumbled to myself, then walked out of the large room. Home. Mmm, that still sounded wonderful. I walked through the house to get to the kitchen, I began shuffling through cabinets until I found the bagels and coffee mix. After our busy night, Brenton called someone and had them stock the cabinets and fridge with food. Apparently the house also came with a live in maid.
The sound of the coffee dripping got interrupted by a phone going off. shit. I walked around trying to find the ringing phone, I found it on the couch.
Making sure it wasn't my family or friends, I answered Brian's call. "Hello?"
"Leah, we have a lead. Get back to the Cold Croc whenever you're able to." Brian's gruff voice said over the line.
"Can I actually show up on my own time?"
"No. Be here in two hours." He said.
"That's courteous."
"Only because I know you have a far drive. Be here." Then he ended the line. I walked back into the kitchen and put the phone on the counter. I toasted two bagels and then poured two cups of coffee.
Back in the bedroom Brenton was still passed out on the bed, except now he was stretched over into my space. Bed hog.
I sat on the edge of the bed and placed everything on the nightstand, then began shaking his arms. "Brenton."
"Leah."
"Wake up." I said softly.
"Go to sleep."
"I have breakfast." At that announcement, he raised his head and looked at me, I smiled.
"Do you actually?" I nodded and picked up His plate and coffee cup. "Thank you." I watched his muscles move gorgeously as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He was fit and built in all the right places.
"Also, Brian needs ya at the Cold Croc in two hours."
"Of course he does." I smiled and took a bite from my bagel. "How'd you sleep?"
"Really good." My cheeks tinted slightly with a blush and Brenton gave me a shy smile. "How about you?"
"Peaceful. First time in a long time."
"It's quite down here." I said after swallowing a bite of food. "I love it."
"Have you seen Mrs Avery?" I shook my head, letting him know I haven't seen the house maid this morning. "Well, at least she stocked the kitchen."
"What was she doing before we moved in?" I asked.
"She lived in the maids quarters out back, that's why the electricity and such was already on, she just maintained the houses. My parents paid here. They still are."
I felt my heart in my throat and looked at him. "Will she tell them we're here?" I asked.
"I talked to my mom while you were asleep in the car, she knows we're here in gave a brief summary of what happened as to why we're here. She's not particularly happy about it, but she supports it."
"She won't tell my parents or Sam, will she?" I asked.
"My mom was a Viper, she knows secrecy." Brenton said and kissed my cheek. "Small Tooth texted me last night, too."
