"you sure" I asked Jessica. Jessica was here visitin and she broke the news to me and told me she three inna half months pregnant. I can't say it's not mine because it add up to the last time she was here. I would hope she not lying to me though cause I'm real excited, and with me, this just some shit you don't play around about. I just don't understand why she didn't tell me sooner. "Yes. I went to the doctor for a check up. The reason I didn't tell you is because I just found out yesterday." She said and I nodded. "I'm sorry" she said. "Sorry for what" I asked. "I know you have a lot going on. I don't want me or the baby to be a burden on your life" she said. "That ain't got shit to do with what's goin on wit me ight. Don't worry about that. I'm happy. I promise" I said and she nodded. "Happy enough for us to move here" she asked and I looked at her. "Here" I asked. "Not with you but in a different house" she said. I smirked and she did too. "Bri gone come" I asked. "She wants to stay back with her dad but she'll visit" she said. "Ight" I said and she smiled. She hugged me and I kissed her cheek. "I love you seaton" she said. "I love you too ma" I said and she let me go. "I got a few runs to make but Ima be back in like two hours" I said. "Alright see ya" she said. I grabbed my keys and walked out the house and I smiled as I drove. God givin me another chance to be somebody father again. I gotta do right this time and Lord knows that if koby was here he would be ecstatic. My phone started ringin and I kept my eyes on the road and answered. "Yo" I said. "That's how you answer the phone for me" Mariah asked and I laughed. "My bad ma. I ain't even look at the screen I just answered. Wassup" I asked. "Nothing was seeing what you were doing today" she said. "I'm makin some stops right now but after that nothin. I can stop by give me like 35-40 minutes" I said. "Okay cool" she said and she hung up and I sat the phone down. I pulled up to the warehouse,went inside and handled my business and then I headed to the next stop. My life don't never slow down. I been doin this for years and I don't think I could ever stop. I got done and headed to Mariah house and got out the car. I knocked on the door and slid my hands in my jacket pocket. The door opened and she smiled. "Hey" she said. "Wassup" I said and she hugged me and I walked inside and closed the door behind me. We walked in the living room and sat down and she put her feet on my lap. "Wassup wit you" I asked her. "Nothing much." She said and I nodded as I grabbed her foot and rubbed it. "How was work" I asked. "I had a long day believe me. I just got back from my parents house like an hour ago. Went to the hospital this morning" she said. "For what. You ight" I asked. "I'm fine" she said. "So why you go" I asked. "I can't have kids" she said and i stopped rubbin her foot and I looked at her. "They told you that" I asked and she nodded and pushed her hair back. "When me and you used to try. That's why we never succeeded. I can't conceive" she said and I looked away and shook my head. "Damn" I mumbled. "I know" she said. "But it's okay though. I've been looking into adoption" she said. "Word" I asked and she nodded. "Of course. I love kids." She said through laughs. "I just wish I could have some of my own" she said. "I don't believe in what doctors say. I know a couple females from around the way, females in my family who got told they couldn't have kids but ended up havin em.you never know. Keep tryin" I said. "Who am I gonna try with" she asked and I side eyed her and she laughed and I did too. "Nah I got somethin to tell you" I said. "Okay" she said. "Jessica here. And she told me she pregnant" I said and I looked at her. She stared at me for a little then she smirked. "Congratulations" she said and I nodded and looked away. It was quiet. I knew why. She was hurt. But I can't go back and change this shit. I know how much Mariah wanted a baby with me thing is me and her not together and ain't been together for years. We ain't even been doin nothin. I know she hurt though for the most part because she can't have no babies at all. "I'll be back" she said and she got up. "Mariah" I said. "I'm fine" she said and I sighed and got up and followed her. I went in the kitchen and grabbed her arm but she pulled away. "I ain't know" I said. "I said it's fine" she said. "So why you cryin" I asked. She shook her head and I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry" I said. "I just don't understand" she said. I listened to her talk. Now I understand why she loved Koby so much. He was like her son just as much as he was mine. I feel for her, I can't say I understand because I don't but Ima try my best to understand. "Like I said. Them doctors just be talkin they shit ma, you never know. You settle down with the right person, get it in maybe once, twice, shit three times, then you got a lil mariah in you " I said and she laughed through tears and I laughed too. "Don't think negative ight. I believe you gone get all the kids you want" I said and she looked at me and nodded. "I love you. You know that" I asked and she nodded. "I love you too" she said. "And if you ever, feel like you wanna start tryin to make them babies then I'm your guy ight" I said through laughs and she laughed and nodded. "I love you" I said as I got serious. "I love you" she said. I kissed her forehead and let her go and she wiped her face and smirked at me. "So how many months is she" she asked. "Three inna half" I said as I sat in the chair. "Really. Is She showing" she asked. "Nah not yet" I said and she nodded. "I thought she would've been. But I guess not" I said. "You know I just can't fuck up this time. I gotta be the best father I can be" I said. "And you will be" she said and I nodded and smirked at her. "Shit hopefully" I said. "You will be I promise" she said. "You hungry" she asked and I smirked and nodded.
