I walked into my house and sighed while lookin around. This nigga Cameron really came through, I owe him. I walked upstairs and walked into my closet and grabbed my Columbia sweat suit. My phone rung and I looked and it was Ashanti. "Yo" I said. "What you doin" she asked. "Nothin. Bout to hop in the shower then I'm comin over there. What you doin" I asked as I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. "Nothin. Shit get around quick heard you and tone got into at the club last night" she said. "We ain't get into it. A few words was exchanged and thats it" I said as I put the phone on speaker and sat it on the sink. I pulled my shirt off and sighed. "You gonna keep koby" she asked. "I don't care" I said. "Good cause I have a date" she said and I paused. "Wit who" I asked. "My boyfriend" she said and I slowly nodded. "Awl" I said. "Yeah. Ima be there" I said. "Yup" she said and I hung up and shook my head. I stepped in the shower and washed myself up. I ain't gotta look over my shoulder or next to me nomore when I'm takin a shower. Shit all good now. I got out like a hour later and wrapped the towel around my waist. I walked in the room and sat on the bed. I sighed and stared at the floor thinkin bout koby and my mom. Shit I might just go wit workin that 9-5 . And if Shit don't go right then ima take that left. I can't risk goin back to jail. I need them just as much as they need me. I started to get dressed and looked down at my arms , I need more tats. I pulled my white tee over my head then I slipped my sweater on. I sprayed my Cologne on and then slipped my forces on. I grabbed my keys and headed out. I got in my car and let the top back and I drove off. I made it to the eastside of town and everybody spoke, everybody showed love and it felt like I was back foreal. "Wassup killa" a dude yelled to me and I nodded as I drove. I made it to her house and got out. I walked up to the house and knocked on the door. She opened it and smirked and I walked in. "Well hello to you too" she said. "Yeah where koby" I asked as I walked in the living room. "Wassup man" some dude said and I looked at Ashanti. "This is Craig. Craig this is kobys dad. Sea.." she started to say. "I know who he is. Wassup" he said while smilin wit wide eyes. I scratched my head and looked away. "Wassup man. yeah Shanti where my kid so we can go" I asked. "In his room" she said and I walked away. "I'll be back" she said to him and I sighed when I heard her behind me. "Go in the room" she said. "I dont got time. We gotta go" I said and she pulled me by my hoodie and pushed me in the room and Shut the door. "What" I asked while leanin against the door. "Whats yo problem." She asked. "Nun. I just wanna get koby so we can leave" I said. "No. Ever since I told you I got a date you been actin funny" she said. "How you know how I was actin when you wasn't around me. Quite frankly I don't give a fuck about yo date. He look broke baby you shoulda aimed for somebody else why he lookin at me like I'm God or somethin. Nigga might be fruit punch" I said through laughs. "You still full of Shit as I can see" she said. "I ain't. Just speakin facts. You never liked it When I told the truth so I ain't expectin you too now" I said. "Be serious" she said. "Why are you acting like this" she asked and I stared at her and put my hands in the pockets of my hoodie. "You still love me" she asked. "Man Ashanti gone" I said. She stepped closer to me and I sighed and rubbed my hand over my face. "Cause I still love you" she said and I looked at her. "Yeah I love you" I said. "But not in that way" I said and she nodded and stepped back. She pushed her hair back and I shrugged. "I can leave now or you still got some Shit to say" I asked. "You can go" she said. "Coo" I said as I walked out the room and slammed the door. I walked to koby room and opened the door and he looked at me and smiled. "You ready" I asked. "Yep" he said and I picked him up and he got on my back. I closed his door back and Ashanti walked out her room. "Bye ma" he said. "Bye" she said as she kissed his cheek. We walked away and she walked behind us. "Alright man" her dude said to me. "you be coo" I said. "Bye koby" he said and koby didn't say nothin back and I walked out the house and he jumped off my back. "Why you ain't say bye" I asked as he jumped in the car. "Next time use to door nigga" I said and he nodded. I got in the car and started it up. "I ont like Craig" he said as I drove off. "Why he be bein mean to you or somethin" I asked. "Not to me to my mom" he said. "Word" I asked. "Yeah" he said. "Why you say that" I asked. "Because one day they was arguin and he hit her a few times and she wouldn't get up. She laid there for a hour and he left. She was cryin and she said she wish you was there" he said and I pulled into the parking lot of the gas station. "You ain't lyin to me" I said. "I swear dad" he said and I nodded and stared at him. "He ain't touch you did he" I asked. "He said he was going to but never did" he said and I sighed and sat back in my seat. "You okay" he asked. "I'm always okay" I said. "Good" he said and I sat there for a few minutes then started the car back up and pulled out the parking lot. I shook my head and rubbed my chin. Me and Ashanti might not be together but anybody in Harlem know not to bull Shit her or try no Shit. Nigga talkin bout he know who I am but he tried it. she never told me Shit about him hittin on her. I only got good Shit. I know my son ain't lyin. But if he is then ima deal wit him. And he said dude threatened em, threats don't pop fly wit the kid. especially if they goin towards my son. "Where we goin" he asked. "Out" I said. "Where" he asked "yo you ask alot of questions my man" I said. "I just like to know stuff" he said and I smirked. "I see" I said. We made it to the restaurant and he hopped out. "Yeah let me get the pancake and Bacon meal for him. kids" I said. "And what you want to drink" I asked. "Orange juice" he said. "Alright and what can I get for you" she asked. "Shit everything. A nigga fresh out and gotta eat" I said and she laughed. "Nah. I want the number 4" I said. "And for a drink I want orange juice" I said. "Alright lil man can I get your menu" she said. I looked up at him then looked at her and she smirked. "Took you forever to notice me huh" she said through laughs as she took our menu's. "Guess so" I said. "Wassup" I said. "Nothing. Ready to be off" she said. "I can tell. You look tired. When yo break" I asked. "In a few minutes" she said. "Come chill wit us"I said. "Alright. I'll be back with your food" she said and I nodded and she walked away. "Who is she" he asked. "Mariah" I said. "I see you" he said and I laughed. "You buggin" I said through laughs. "She cute" he said with a shrug. "You know too much Shit to be 6." I said and he laughed. She came back with our stuff a few minutes later and she smiled. "I'm off" she said as she sat next to me and scooted me over makin me laugh. "You coulda just told me to scoot over ma" I said and she laughed. "Whats your name" she asked koby. "Koby" he said. "I like that. It fits you" she said and his cheeks turned red makin her laugh. "You look better then your dad. My opinion" she said and I laughed. "You funny" I said and she smirked. "Thanks for lastnight" she said. "Mhm" I said and she laughed. "Hope you ain't still wit him" I said with a mouth full of food. "nope" she said. "Cheers" I said and she smirked. "So you tellin me. that I got a chance" I said. "Yes sir" she said and I smiled. "You needa do that more often. makes you look good" she said. "What" I said. "Smile" she said and she smirked and looked away and I stared at her. "Dad I'm full" koby said and I looked at his plate and all his food was gone. "Damn Ashanti not feedin you" I said. "Yeah" he said. "Drink that then we can go ight" I said and he nodded. "So what you finna do" I asked. "Sleep" she said. "All day" she said. "Nope cause you wit me" I said. "Nope cause I'm tired" she said. "I don't care" I said. "Tomorrow. I swear on your life we can hang out" she said. "Alright you better not be lyin then cause you put that Shit on my life." I said and she smiled. "On my life" she said as she stood up and we stood up. We walked out and she smirked. "Stop smilin" I said. "I can't help it" she said. "Try to stop" I said and I stared at her and she covered her mouth and I licked my lips and she smiled makin me laugh. "You can't even do it" I said. "I can't" she said through laughs. "Can I call you" I asked. "Seaton wants to call me" she said. "Of course" she said and she grabbed my phone and put her number in it. "Don't change my name in there" she said. "I ain't" I said and she smiled. "I'll see you around" she said. "Yup" I said and she hugged Me and I kissed her cheek and she smiled. "See you" she said. "See you ma" I said and I got in the car and drove off.
