My head rested on Reggie's shoulders as tears fell from my eyes. "You gone be Ight" he said as he rubbed my back. "I don't know Reggie" I said back. "I don't think I ever will be okay" I said and he pulled me closer to him and I closed my eyes. It's been a whole day and I still haven't heard from Seaton. I needed him so bad. I decided to call Jessica. Which was probably a bad move but it was unusual for him to not call me back and I wanted to make sure he was okay. "I'll be right back" I said to Reggie. He nodded at me and I walked out of the room. "Hello" she said. "Hey it's Mariah" I said. "Hey" she said back. "I wanted to know if you've seen or heard from Seaton" I said. "I called him this morning but he didn't answer. I'm in California right now visiting with my family. Why is he okay" she asked. "I'm not sure. Thank you though" I said. "No problem" she said then she hung up. I sighed and dialed angels number again and she didn't answer either. I didn't know if I had jamere's number or not but I did. I dialed it and he answered but I heard a whole bunch of yelling in the back. "Yo" he said in a dry tone. "Hey" i said. "Who this" he asked. "Mariah" I said. "Oh shit wassup sis" he said. "Have you seen or talked to Seaton" I asked. He stayed quiet and I cleared my throat. "Jamere" I said. "Some shit happened" he said and I felt my heart drop. "Wh-what happened" I asked. "Last time I seen cari and Seaton was the day before yesterday after we closed down the warehouse. I headed to my sisters cause I had to pick up the kids. I got a call this morning from Kj and he told me I needed to come to the hospital asap. So I went and Jacari was all fucked up and shit but he was alright. But Seaton..."he trailed off. "They got him on life support right now ma they don't know if he gone make it" he said and I heard his voice crack a little. "He like a father to me you know what I'm sayin" he said to me and I felt my hearing suddenly disappear and I started to feel lightheaded. "I can't lose him" I said and that was the last thing I heard and when I opened my eyes I was on the ground with Reggie and some nurses surrounding me. "You Ight" he asked. The nurses helped me up and they stared to examine me. "Are you okay" they all asked. I ignored them and I went and sat down in the chair. Reggie came and sat next to me and my bottom lip started to tremble. He pulled me into a hug and I started to cry. Why is this happening to me. I didn't understand.
