I walked up to my mom house and walked inside. "Koby" I yelled and I heard him runnin down the stairs. "Wassup man" I said as I picked him up and kissed his cheek. "Sup" he said. "Where nana at" I asked. "In the living room." He said. "But she's talking that's why I'm upstairs" he said. "Its somebody here" I asked. "Yeah go look" he said as he got down and went back upstairs. I walked in the kitchen and grabbed a water out the refrigerator. "Ma" I yelled and I started to walk in the living room. I made it in there and seen her, Shawn and angel. "Hey ma" I said as I kissed her cheek. I sat down next to her and angel and Shawn stared at me. "Seaton" she said. "Angel" I said in a low voice. "Good to see you home my nigga" he said and I drunk from my water bottle. "Yessir" I said. "Seaton don't be like that" my mom said. "Like what ma. I'm talkin to them. I ain't gotta hold a full convo wit they ass" I said. "You needa grow up already" angel said and I laughed. "Girl shutup talkin to me" I said. "Make me" she said. "Ma" I said. "Both of you stop" she said. "Its been too long. Shes your sister. Your 23 and shes 19. Both of you are grown. This kid Shit has to stop" she said. "You cussin now" I asked. "Seaton" she said and I sighed and sat back. "I don't appreciate you takin my son to go see that man either" I said. "Your father" she said. "My dad is dead" I said. "Your dad is in jail" she said. "Yeah" I said through laughs. "Yo ma needa talk to us about somethin so you needa stop the bull Shit and listen" angel said. "Yes ma'am" I said through laughs. "Foreal man" Shawn said and I looked at him. "Ight" I said as I looked away. "My bad.What we needa talk about" I asked. "I went to the doctor today and they told me that my cancer is coming back" she said and it felt like my whole world came crashin down. I looked at her. "What" I asked and she nodded and I rubbed my hand over my face and sat up. "Ight you can fight this" I said. "Ima help you ma" I said. "I promise" I said. "Its worse seaton. They told me they don't know if I'm gonna make it through the week" she said in a cracked voice and I stood up. "Aw Shit" I mumbled as I rubbed my hand over my face. I stood against the wall and angel and Shawn stared at me and she wiped her tears away. "You can't leave me ma. I just came home" I said in a cracked voice. "I know baby" she said through tears and I nodded and looked down at the ground. "Fuck man" I said through tears as I fell to the ground. Angel walked over to me and I wrapped my arms around her neck and held her as I cried. I ain't cried since the last time my moms got diagnosed wit cancer and that was when I was 14 years old. "Its gonna be okay" she said as she rubbed my back. "No it ain't angel" I said as I let her go. She stared at me and I looked into her eyes. "It ain't" I said in a low voice and she wiped my face and helped me up by my arm. I looked at Shawn and he stood up and pulled me into a hug. "I got you lil bro. I don't care how mamy disagreements we got into I'm still yo big brother and I got you. Always" he said and I nodded. "Yup" I said as I let him go. I sat next to my mom and nodded. "Alright" I said. "We can get through this. we strong. We gone be ight" I said while noddin. She smirked and I looked at her and she hugged me and rubbed my back. "Mommy's baby" she said in my ear and I nodded as the tears fell. "I love you ma" I said. "I love you" she said as she continued to rub my back. "And I'm gonna be fine. You just take care of koby" she said. "I will I swear" I said. She nodded and we sat there like that for two hours. And I told her about everything. Shit that happened when I was like 6 but she listened and she understood like always. "You alright" I asked her as I pulled her cover over her. "I'm fine" she said and I nodded. "love you" I said. "I love you" she said and I kissed her cheek and walked out her room. I walked downstairs and seen angel layin on the couch. I sighed and sat at the edge of the couch and shook my head. "I love you lil sis" I said. "Love you seaton" she said and I nodded. "You gone be okay" she said. "Yeah I know. Keep a eye on her while you here ight" I said and she nodded. I stood up and kissed her cheek. "I a hit you tomorrow" I said. "Alright see you" she said and I walked towards the door and walked out. I got in my car and drove off. I'm just out here, I don't even care. I drove around until I called mariah. "Hello" she groaned into the phone. "You sleep" I asked. "Who's this" she asked. "Seaton" I said. "Really. I was waiting for your call all day and you finally call at 3 in the morning" she said. "I just need to hear some words from you foreal" I said and she stayed quiet then I heard her light snores. "Mariah" I said. "Hmm" she said and I smirked. "Let me come through" I said. "Sure" she said. "You not gone tell me the address" I asked. "I'm sorry. um 756 Northridge" she mumbled. "Alright" I said and she hung up. I drove off and headed toward her house. I ain't feel like lookin at addresses so I looked until I seen her car. I pulled into the driveway and got out. I knocked on her door and she didn't answer. I called her and she answered a couple seconds later. "I'm coming" she said and I hung up. She opened the door and I looked at her. "Hello" she groaned while scratchin her hair and walkin away. I walked in and closed the door. "Wassup" I said. "I'm tired" she said as she walked upstairs. I followed her and she turned on her light and I closed the door. She sat down and I sat at the edge of the bed. "Whats up" she asked while yawnin and I shook my head. "Shit" I said. She pulled her knees up to her chest and pushed her hair back. "You came to talk so talk." She said. I nodded and stared at the ground. "Come here?" She asked and I scooted closer to her and she wrapped her arms around me as I sat between her legs. "What's wrong" she asked as she laid her head on mine. "My moms" I said. "She found out her cancer comin back and it's worse. Doc told her she might not finish the week off" I said. "But it's bull Shit. I just came home. And now she leavin me. This Shit not okay. Who ima have now" I asked. "Me" she said. "I'll be here. I know we just met and all but you know." She said as she rubbed my hand. "Yeah" I said. I sighed and held onto her hand. "Your friend at the hospital. I don't think he likes me" she said. "Cameron don't like nobody that I bring around" I said as I shook my head. "Why is that" she said as she laid her head back ontop of mine. "We been friends for some Years. I think he feel as if I get close to somebody they tryna take me from him" I said. "Shit I ont know foreal" I said and she nodded. I stared at our hands and licked my lips. I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed it and she kissed my cheek. "You gonna be ok" she asked. "I'm always okay" I said. "Good" she said. I turned towards her and kissed her lips and she smirked. "You gonna stay" she asked. "You want me to" I asked and she nodded. "Sure" she said. "Alright" I said as I pulled my hoodie off. She turned the light off and I laid next to her. "Goodnight" she said. "Night" I said as I wrapped my arms around her. Soon as I closed my eyes my phone rung. "Damn" I mumbled. "Yo" I said as I put the phone to my ear. "Hello" Ashanti yelled. "Wassup" I asked. "Ant called me and told me they found keshawn dead" she said and my body tensed up and I guess she felt it cause she sat up. "Wait what" I asked. "They found keshawn dead. He was stabbed to death" she said and I sighed. "Alright" I said and I hung up. "Whats wrong" she asked. "They found my lil brother dead. Shit I'm sorry. I don't wanna drown you in my problems so ima go ight" I said. "Your fine" she said. "Can I go with you" she asked and I looked at her. "Yeah" I said and she got out the bed and walked into her closet and I put my hands on top of my head and sighed.not keshawn though. My baby brother. The baby of the crew. Nigga always wanted to be down but i told him to stick wit cuttin hair cause he was the best at it. "Lets go" she said and I grabbed my keys and we headed downstairs. She held my hand as I drove. I shook my head and rubbed my hand over my face. Im bad luck, ever since I got out I been gettin hit wit bad news. I got a text and it was from jahleel. "Warehouse" he said and I put my phone down. I drove to the warehouse and got there 20 minutes later. We got out and I put my arm around her waist. "Sup boss man" cj said and I nodded and walked inside. "You ain't never been in a warehouse before" I asked her "no" she said. "This it" I said as we went down the stairs. "Wassup killa" James said and I nodded. I walked in and seen everybody and she squeezed my hand. "Chill" I said and she nodded. "Man we don't even know what happened. Marquez ain't talkin" jahleel said and I sat down and she sat on my lap. I looked at Marquez and he stood there wit his shirt all bloody wit tears rollin down his face. "Let me up" I said and she stood up and I did too. "Let me talk to you" I said to Marquez. "Come on mariah" I said and she stood up and grabbed my hand and we walked into the room and I closed the door behind us. "Talk to me man" I said and he sniffled. "They kilt my bestfriend killa" he said. "Who killed him man" I asked. "If I tell you ima die too" he said and mariah stepped forward. "Come here" she said to him and he stared at her. "Mariah" I said. "I know what I'm doing" she said. "Please" she said and he slowly walked over to her. She pulled him into a hug and he hugged her back. "Its okay" she said and he cried. "I grabbed him man. I did everything I could to get them off him" he cried. "Who" she asked as she rubbed his back "you can tell me" she said "and you can tell seaton. He won't be mad at you" she said. He nodded and looked at me. "It was tone and his boys" he said and she let him go. "You sure" I asked. "Yes sir" he said as he shook his head. "Why keshawn" he said. Its too much goin on for me already. I'm tired of this Shit already and the war aint even start yet.
