In the morning, my little sister Sana woke up first from her alarm and headed out to the bus stop. She was a freshman in high school this year. I woke up 40 minutes afterwards and got ready for school too. But, before I leave I always made sure Nina was up and ready for school. This was our daily routine.
Driving to school like usual, I listened to my playlist and sang along to the lyrics. By now, I can sing Butterfly by heart without needing lyrics. Rapping was another story, I mean come on, who can rap like Rapmonster? Yet I still try it and horribly, I rap the lines:
"Neon machi Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly
meolliseo humchyeobwa son daheumyeon neol irheulkka
i chilheuk gateun eodum sok nal barkhineun nabihyogwa
ni jageun sonjit han beone hyeonsireul ijeo nan
salmyeosi sseudadeumneun baram gata
salposi pyoryuhaneun meonji gata
neon geogi itjiman waenji dahji anha Stop
kkum gateun neon naege butterfly, high."
During college, the hardest yet easiest thing was finding a good parking spot. After all my classes, I drove straight to work. It wasn't too far away so I was always able to stop by a store and grab some food first.
Working was challenging at times but most times it was okay. My manager was really nice and my coworkers were not hard to get along with either. It was 10:30pm, signaling that it was time for me to leave and go home. After finishing the rest of my workload, I walked towards the door.
"Bye Y/N! I'll see you back here tomorrow," said Regina.
"Of course! Have a good night Regina," I said.
I was about to leave the store when I saw a little boy standing idly by, staring at a lollipop. He had black hair, brown eyes, and a red t-shirt on. I looked around to see if his family members were nearby but there was none. I could go but I'm too nice of a person, I thought.
"Hey Tom can I buy this?" I took the big lollipop and set it on the counter.
"Here you go, that'll be $1.07," said Tom.
"Thanks." I turned to the little boy and said, "Here you go. Just think of it as a nice gift from an older sister." He happily received the candy and I walked out the door. I looked up at the sky to see the dark night with a full moon aligned with sparkling stars. The cool air filled my lungs as I breathed inwards.
Suddenly, I felt a small tap on my hand from behind. It was the little boy.
"Excuse me miss."
"Oh hi, you shouldn't be out here right now. Go back inside to your family and stay safe," I said as I bent down to get on the same level as him.
"I wanted to ask...if there's something you really want, what would it be?"
I turned away from him and thought about it then teasingly said, "Well I wish I was the most beautiful girl on earth so Park Jimin of BTS would love me. But I guess that would require me to be in South Korea and this is more like two wishes than one so-" I turned to face him again as I said this but he disappeared. I stood up straight and looked around but he was no where to be seen. 'Maybe he went back inside? I did hear the door slide open,' I thought as I headed to my car. 'Sorry but it's getting late so I need to get back! I hope he's safe!'
When I arrived home, I took a shower then did some homework. After everything was done, I happily jumped on my bed. It's so nice to feel the soft bed on my back after a long day. I stretch out my arms and legs and looked at the ceiling. It was pretty odd with what happened a while ago but maybe it was nothing. 'Y/N stop being so superstitious of everything,' I thought.
"It was probably nothing," I said as I drifted to sleep.
