I opened my eyes and looked around the room. My body felt numb and paralyzed. The distinct smell of a hospital room rushed in and I took a deep breath.
"She's awake! Get the doctors! She's awake!" screamed my mother who came rushing to my side.
No words came out of me. How long have I been asleep? After a process with the doctor I laid on the stiff bed and silently looked at the white ceiling while pondering the discussion I had earlier.
"Do you remember anything?" the doctor had asked.
I slightly shook my head no. "I don't remember a single thing."
She explained that I would need rehab to help get the strength and muscles in my body back to normal but I should be fine. I didn't feel fine. I was in a coma this whole time. Three months.
After weeks and weeks of training and getting myself back to normal, I was back at home. Things could've been worse for me but apparently I miraculously made a full recovery in a quick amount of time.
I looked at my left hand and saw the silver sterling ring that I was placed on my ring finger. I had no idea how it got there, nor did anyone else in my family but seeing it breaks my heart and I didn't know why.
Four years passed by like a blink of an eye. I got my life back together again and yes, I'm still a huge fan of Bangtan Boys. They had became more well known internationally. They were talked about in the radios, on many shows, and in the social media of the U.S. My bias Jimin looked well. He was healthy and still as bright as ever.
"Y/N! Y/N! Jimin has the same ring as you!" screamed my little sister Nina who came running.
"What are you talking about?"
"See look!" she said showing me a picture of him at a fan meeting.
"When was this taken?" I asked as my heart raced.
"I don't know. I think it was a few weeks ago," she said looking at my ring.
"It looks the same but I'm pretty sure it's not," I said honestly.
My ring was a plain band with Korean words engraved within on the inside. The words were split in half so I can't make out what it says. Ever since I woke up from my coma with it on, I've been trying to figure out who has the other ring. What Jimin was wearing was just another accessory. He couldn't possibly be the other half. Reality is, this person had to be here in the States.
Where did you come from little ring? Who's your original owner? I still have no memories prior to waking up from my coma and I shouldn't let it bother me but it felt as if I woke up in pieces. Like waking up without fully being awake. I felt empty as if something important had been ripped away from me. But I'm glad to be alive.
"Well you're still lucky cause it looks the same," she said looking at his picture again.
"Yeah, I guess I am."
