Jack's pov
I tried to explain my power, to no avail, so we just spread out and practiced our powers on our own. I tried my power over and over until I found out another cool that I could do. I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't deplete any of my senses. I held out my fist and watched it glow. I looked at the ground in front of me and immediately I was there. I could teleport!
After telling the group about the new power I found, anti told us that he found out he has incredible strength, and Mark told us he can heal anything to a certain extent. I then remembered my septiceye in my bag. I ran over to the car and opened it, getting out my bag. I reached into the pocket and pulled out the glass cylinder that contained my pet septiceye.
"Sorry I neglected you buddy" I said as I looked at him. He nodded, accepting my apology.
"Woah!" Jessie yelled and ran over to me. "Those things are so rare! I thought they were extinct!"
"What did you name it?" Mark asked.
I looked down and tried to hold back my tears, "Sam" I replied with a shaky voice. "I got it for Christmas the day she died"
"Oh, I'm sorry I asked" Mark apologized because I was clearly still mourning for Sam.
"It's okay, I'm just sad Sammy is gone."
"That might be the last septiceye in the world, Jack" Jessie said, trying to get onto a less sensitive topic.
"Really? Why?" I asked.
"When the mobs just began improving the antisptic's murdering capabilities, they found out that those septiceyes can fight against it pretty efficiently. What they do is, they can purify the most contaminated air within about 10 to 15 feet of it. Because of their power, they were all murdered by the mobs so that they couldn't help their owners survive."
"That's terrible" anti said sympathetically.
"Yeah it was. And they can also give extreme amounts of power to people like you that are born with extra Septic, if they are loyal to you. The only other person that could take Sam away and forcibly use it's power against you is another septic."
After that, there were a few people that came out of the diner.
"Those are the people we were following. Get in the car." Peach whispered as we all stood up and walked over.
I got back into my previous seat, this time with my bag and pet in my lap because I didn't have time to put them away. It was going to be a long drive, so I started pulling random things out of my bag and looking at it.
I eventually took out the map looking thing that I found in the treehouse a while ago. I looked it over an over, studying it. I must have dropped Sammy's note when I pulled out the map because Mark picked up something, unfolding it, and read it. I heard him gasp from beside me and I looked over at him.
"Oh, Jack. Why didn't you tell us about this?"
"What? Oh, uh, well I figured there was nothing to talk about. She is gone. Forever." I started to tear up. Mark looked at me and wiped the tear away, looking into my eyes, "I am truly sorry" he apologized and the rest of the ride was silent.
It was another half of an hour before the car we are following stopped again. We parked in an inconspicuous spot and watched them. They all got out and walked into a science lab facility type place. There was a sign on the front of the building looked oddly familiar. I took out the paper I had been studying on the way there and held it up. Perfect Match. We're here... Wherever here is.
