YNA'S POV

Nagising ako sa cellphone ko na pa ulit-ulit ang pagtunog. Bakit ba kasi "budots" yung alarm tone ko? Gustung-gusto ko na ngang ibato kaso wala nga pala akong pamalit kung masira man ito. Sana pala hindi na lang ako nag-alarm kung mabubwisit lang din ako sa umaga twing tumutunog 'to. Mabilis at may halong inis akong bumangon at may pagkatamad kong kinuha ang aking twalya na nakasabit sa aking cabinet. 

Mag-isa lang ako sa condo unit na binili sa akin ng aking ama dalawang taon na ang nakakalipas. Pagkatapos ng graduation ko ay agad akong ikunuha ng bahay na matitirhan dito sa syudad. The fact the he doesn't want to be with me because I was a pain in the ass and a real bastard in the family led him to just ride me out of his sight for real. Well, pabor sakin.

I made it through the bathroom. Halfway through my bath, I remember I have no job to go into anymore.  Oo, nagresign ako kahapon lang. Two years din akong naging assistant secretary sa isang private school dito sa Manila. After graduation, I decided to not teach but to be part of the administration of the school.

Talking about not wanting what you took in college, yes, I made the wrong decision. However, I still took the licensure examination and passed it. My father wanted me to become a teacher. He was very controlling that's why I ended up taking what I don't like.

The summer started and I just decided to go somewhere alone. I gave up my work for this – to do whatever it is that I want, which unfortunately is still unclear.

Pagkalabas ko ng banyo ay agad namang tumunog ang cellphone ko, may tumatawag.

"Dad.." I muttered nonchalantly. 

"Why on earth did you resign?" angry voice, yeah. 

I rolled my eyes. Nakalimutan ko, kaibigan nga pala ni daddy yung may ari nung school. Bumuntong hininga muna ako bago magsalita.

"Dad, let me just do what I really want. A year. Give me a year." a little pleading might work, I assume. 

"Hindi na nga kita hinayaang magturo tapos ngayon kung anu-anong gusto mong gawin sa buhay mo! I won't tolerate this Yna. You find a job where you can teach or I'll take back the condo unit I gave you. I'm serious Yna." 

I did not respond and ended the call. Kanina ko pang gustong ibato tong phone ko. Juicecolored! I gave myself a deep sigh again. My phone rang again and that time it's Tita Mari, tunay na asawa ni dad.

"Yes, Tita?"

"Your dad was furious. What is your plan ba iha?" she said worringly.  

"I just want to rest for a while Tita. Please just give me a year and I promise to do whatever he wants me to do." I pleaded.
