MONSTERS

"OW," CLARY YELPED, AS WE LANDED ON THE GROUND. "Ouch," I murmured rubbing my wrist after falling. "Bella? Clary?" I looked up to see captain Vargas. "It's 2:00 in the morning. What are you guys doing here so late?"

I sat up, brushing the 'dust' off of my pants. "Uh, um... Luke said he'd uh, drive us home if he was still here." Clary answered. "Still doesn't trust those cabbies, huh?" "Well, he's in a middle of an interview. It could take a while." She said. "That's alright. We'll just wait in the cafeteria." I told her.

"Okay, you girls have a goodnight then." She smiled kindly at them.

"Goodnight." I gave her a wave, and she walked off.

-

"The minute we found out Jocelyn Fairchild was alive, you were easy to track." The man said to Luke.

"Fairchild?" I whispered under my breath, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Turns out you and Jocelyn were never that far apart. The circle has her now. It's just a matter of time till we catch the daughter's." The interviewer said. My eyes widened, and I glanced at Clary for a second.

"You can have them both if you just hand over the mortal cup."

"I don't care about either of them. They mean nothing to me. Kill them all if you like." How could he say that about all of us? I treated him like he was my family. My heart fell out of my chest. How can he say that? What's wrong with him? "Mom..." I whispered.

"Bella, wait." Clary said. The tears were already streaming down my face as I ran outside into the pouring down rain. How could Luke say those things about us? I thought he was our family. I guess I thought wrong.

-

*Mom!" Clary screamed as we ran into our home.

"Mom!" I yelled. "Mom!" Our house was trashed.

Everything was broken. I ran into my room, and it was all burnt down. "Mom!" I heard Clary scream again. "Mom!" She yelled. I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and walked into the living room.

"Clary, she's not here!" I yelled angrily.

"What do you mean she's not here,?" Clary yelled. A boom of thunder erupted and I screamed.

Clary gasped. I looked in front of me and I saw Dot standing in the living room. What the hell was she still doing here? "Dot," I breathed out, feeling scared. "They took Jocelyn." She said. "W-who took her?" Clary asked. "Rogue shadowhunters, searching for the mortal cup." "Dot, what the hell are you talking about? You're not making any sense!"

"Think Clary, Bella. Did your Mother ever talk to you about a cup? A very important cup. It's gold, almost like a chalice." She explained.

"No. No! No, I don't know anything about a cup, Dot!" I yelled at her.

"You mean one of those antiques downstairs?" Clary asked.

"No, no. Not those." Dot sighed deeply. "Think you guys. This could save Jocelyn."

"I can't think at all! Someone kidnapped my Mother!"

"You know more than you think you do. Clary, Bella Fray!" She fell to the floor, claws started to come out of her finger tips.

"Huh?" She turned into this grey, evil, looking monster. Fangs came out of her mouth and I screamed. I was thrown across the room instantly and smashed into a mirror. Everything went blurry after that. I then heard Clary scream, and knife in my hand was now gone. I looked around for it and found it near the wall. I grabbed it and then I saw Clary being pushed up against the wall with the monster holding her against it. "Stop it!" I screamed at it. "Just stop!" It hissed, turning back to look a me. A figure was suddenly appeared behind the monster, shoving a sword in the back of it.

The same sword that I used to kill the man with in the club. Clary gasped and I ran over to her. "What? No 'thank you' for saving your life?" The blonde boy from earlier asked.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I hissed. He ignored me and focused his attention on Clary.

"Careful. That demon got you," he said, looking at Clary's neck.

"Demon?" Clary whispered.

"Yeah," he said, "What you think that miserable, disgusting, thing was?" He asked. "I-I thought it was Dot."

"No. Ravener demon. Shape shifter." He explained.

How does he know these things? "What the hell are you talking about?" I asked, running a hand across my forehead. "You're just saying words now. Where's... where's Bella? Why... why... is the room spinning?"

"Demon venom." What the hell is demon venom?

"Is that bad?" Clary asked, as she fell over. The blonde picked her up into his arms, we left our house. I wasn't really sure where we were going next.

All I know is that there are bad things out there.

This is just the beginning of it.
