PEP-TALKS WITH ISABELLE

"THIS IS THE LEAST REVEALING THING YOU HAVE?" CLARY ASKED. Isabelle chuckled.

"What? All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion." Clary sighed. "Where's Simon?"

"Who?" Isabelle joked, with a serious face. My eyes widened. "Bella, I'm kidding. He's in good hands with the boys." Thank god. "So, um... You, Alec, and Jace are like family?" Clary asked Isabelle, who smirked at her. I pursed my lips. "Translation, you want to know if Jace and I are a thing?" Isabelle pointed out.

Clary scoffs. "Why would I care?"

"Because you do. Don't worry. In every way, he's like my big brother. Our parents took Jace in when he was ten. We trained together, learned to fight side by side." Isabelle explained, smiling at the memory that was once long ago.

"A few days ago all I had to worry about was getting into an art school." Clary told Isabelle.

"And now..." "Is this the part where I give you guys the pep-talk about harnessing your inner Shadowhunter and accepting your true destiny?" I guess that was it. The not so fun pep-talk. I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Was that the pep-talk?" I asked. Isabelle gets off her bed and walks over to us.

"Basically."

"Bella, Clary. Remember you were born to do this." I frowned.

"No matter what happens, this is who you guys are."

I sighed. "Yeah, not exactly feeling it."

"Yet."

"Okay. But first, we have to find Dot." I said.

"And track down and kill the most dangerous rogue Shadowhunter in the history before he kills us all."

My mouth gaped open. "Wow, alright. You really know how to ruin a pep-talk don't you?" I said.

"Come on, let's go." Isabelle said, grabbing my hand.

"Oh, and Simon," she added, "Is kind of nerd hot."

She sent us a wink and giggle before we left her room. I hate pep-talks.
