DIFFERENT RUNES
AFTER EVERYTHING WITH THE MEMORY DEMON AND ALEC I FELT BAD. I also hurt knowing that my memories are gone forever. I guess I just needed someone else to talk to other then my sister. Sighing and running a hand through my hair, and I stopped at Alec's door dead in my tracks. What if he doesn't let me in? What if he hates me now? I knocked once on the door and stepped back, waiting.
There was no answer. Frowning, I knocked again twice there were still no answer. I knew it. I never should have came here in the first place. Sighing, I turned around then the door opened. Alec stood there with no expression on his face. I opened my mouth to say something but then I closed it again.
What do I say? What should I say? "H-hi," I said, looking up at him.
"Hi," he breathed out, looking down at me considering how short I am compared to him.
"Do you need something?"
"Um... Actually, I don't really know. I could come back later, though," I said, frowning and turning away. "No," Alec said, "I want to talk to you." Alec pulled me into his room and he sighed. He shut the door behind us. "I wanted to apologize." Alec said, his face lowering down to meet my eye level. "For what?" I asked him.
I'm not really sure why he's apologizing.
Shouldn't I be the one saying sorry? I mean, it is all my fault since everything that has happened to him and his family. Isn't it?
"About what you saw. In the memory demon." Alec said. "For what I saw? Alec, no. No, no," I said, "It's okay, really." Since I've been here, I think I've been developing feelings for Alec. I mean, how could you not? He's gorgeous and perfect in every single way. Yeah sure, he has his bad days, but that's just who he is I guess.
"No, I'm sorry, Alec. I'm sorry for everything."
"You don't have to be sorry." Alec said. I then looked on his arm. I noticed that there was a different type of rune that I have never seen before. I furrowed my eyebrows and stared at it. What is that one? Confused, my eyes flickered up to Alec's then down at the marking. It was a weird squiggly one. I couldn't really tell what that one is. "Hey," I said.
"What's that mark?" I pointed at the mark on his arm. He looked down at what I meant and sighed.
"That rune is for speed." Alec said. "Speed?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. "Why do you need speed?"
"You just do sometimes." Alec replied. My breathing hitched up for being so close to him.
I can't believe I'm about to ask this question but I'm just really curious. "C... can I see them?" Alec looked at me furrowing his eyebrows. "Your runes. I-I mean," I said. "Uh... sure." He walked over to his bed and sat down.
I followed him while looking around his room when I had the chance to. I sat on the bed behind Alec and stared at his back. Alec hesitated, then he took of his shirt. My eyes widened at all the many different runes there are.
"There are so many." I couldn't help but to stare at his back muscles and his muscly arms. There are so many runes on his arms. Alec turned to face me.
There was one on his neck that I was curious about but I didn't really ask about that one. I touched one.
I heard Alec take a deep breath.
"What's that one?"
"That's sight." Alec answered. "Sight?" I asked.
"We can zoom in with our eyes at the things we need to see if we're in trouble." Alec explained.
"Oh," I breathed in, "Wow." That's a lot to take in.
Especially when you don't know what half of the runes mean. I looked at his neck and I brought my hand up to touch it.
"What's..." I couldn't speak.
I snapped out of it.
"What's this one...?" I asked, my eyes flickering up to Alec's. "It's-" "Alec," "Whoa." "I heard Isabelle's voice in the doorway. My eyes widened and I jumped off the bed. Alec quickly put his black tank top on and I ran a hand threw my hair. "Izzy," Alec said, sternly.
"What are you doing in here?" Isabelle grinned as her eyes flickered between Alec's and mine.
"What do you want?" "Clary is looking for you, Bella. She said she wanted to talk to you. It's important."
She looked at Alec again. I sighed. "Um, okay," I say, nervously. What would of happen if Isabelle didn't open up that door?
"Um, I'll see you later," I said to Alec. I quickly walked out of his room. I turned the corner and ran to Clary's room. I opened up the door and I shut it behind me. "I didn't tell anyone yet." Clary said. She looked so freaked out. "Tell anyone what?" I asked her. "I saw him, Bella. I saw him." Clary said. "What? Saw who, Clary?"
