ABRACADABRA
"WHO'S GRAVE IS IT?" I ASKED. "Mary Milligan. Born January 10th, 1802. Died January 10th, 1878." Jace explained to Clary and I. "All right, Alec. Let's go." "Wait, what are we looking for?" Clary asked. "Cache of weapons, stashed here with Mrs. Milligan." Jace said.
"Why are there shadowhunter weapons in a churchyard?" I asked no one in particular.
"Because all the ancient religions recognized demons. Or at least... they used to. They forgot about the threat because we've been here to protect them." Jace said. "Typical mundane failure of imagination." Alec said. "Are you saying we did too good of a job? You just can't let up can you?" Isabelle said to her brother.
"You know what? Alec, why don't you go check by the angel?" Jace asked Alec. "We couldn't gear up at the institute but we know our ancestors left a cache around here someplace." "We'll find it." "You know, I always wondered where our Father was buried. But now, I'm like, okay, our Father is a complete insane serial killer who's name is Valentine. And, he's not dead, he's alive!" I yelled. Well, that didn't make any sense at all. "I'm gonna go look over here now," I said, shrugging. "Bella, stay in sight." Clary says.
"Yes, ma'm."
Sighing, I walked away from Clary and Jace and I tried to find the tomb stone. Why are finding people's graves so difficult? After looking at a hundred or more tomb stones I finally found it.
"Alec, Jace!" I shouted. "Mary Milligan!" I yelled.
"Beloved servant? Who wants that on a head sone?" I asked, confused.
"Someone who is in service to cause greater than themselves." Jace and Alec got ready to open it and I watched. "Abracadabra," Jace said. He was about to open it with his stele. My eyes widened. "Wait, you people actually say that?" I asked him, moving up and down on my feet. Jace looked at me with amusement on his face, then he looked at Alec. "No, Bella. We don't."
Jace chuckled. I shrugged. "Whoa! Where's Mr's Milligan?" Clary asked, as she picks up a sword.
"Don't touch that. You don't know how to use it," Alec said to my twin, grabbing it back from her.
"What, like at Pandemonium when Bella killed that demon?" Clary asked him, raising an eyebrow. "She didn't kill..." Alec started to say. Jace cut him off.
"Alec," Jace warned. "I'm gonna show her the right way to use it. Do you see what you need here?" "No. there's no bow here. I need one." Alec said. He uses a Bow? Huh, didn't see that one coming. Actually, I didn't see any of this coming. Funny the way things work out.
Dammit, Bella. Do you ever shut up?
I'm taking that as a no... I hate myself sometimes.
I sighed. "I have to rune some arrows. There back at the institute. Bella, you're coming with me." Alec said. What? Alec wants me to go with him? "Well, how are you gonna get back in there without being noticed?" Jace asked Alec. He glanced at me and I shrugged. "I'll just make sure that Bella keeps her mouth shut." Alec replied.
