"So, are we forbidding upcoming questions about your relationship and break up with Sam?" Vivian asked, peering over at me through her cat-eye glasses.

I clasped my hands together and twiddled my thumbs, biting my lower lip between my teeth. "It'd probably be best. I don't really feel like talking about it and I'm sure that she doesn't want me to, anyway."

The last time I "talked" to Sam was a week ago, when she sent me a text to announce that Nicki had had the baby. When my phone went off with the familiar tone of a new message, I thought nothing of it, but when I saw Sam's name my heart began to beat wildly. Although her text wasn't what I was expecting, I was still happy to know that she was thinking of me, even if it was just for a moment.

Vivian gave me a tight smile and leaned over, putting her hand on my arm. "She was a good one," she said.

"She was the one," I muttered.

"Are you going to tell her about the song? About the music video?" she asked.

We were dropping 'Perfect' soon along with the music video. It was the song that I'd written about Sam long ago, just before I'd told her I'd loved her for the first time. I was so excited for her to see it, especially after everything that had happened. I was sure that it would lift her spirits and keep her from doubting our relationship, but I was too late.

"No," I sighed. "I don't really think she wants anything to do with me."

Vivian chewed on her lip before flicking her eyes down to her laptop screen and then back to my face. "She still loves you."

I will never forget when we had our last conversation over the phone. It was the conversation we had about announcing the break up. Before she hung up, she told me she loved me. I didn't know if it was her way of saying her final goodbye to me, or if she did it out of habit, but God, did my heart break. "Just because she still loves me doesn't mean she still loves me," I argued.

Vivian nodded in agreement. "No, but you're still in her heart, Harry. You'll always be there. How long have I known you now?" she asked.

"About three years," I answered, furrowing my eyebrows at her random question.

"And in those three years," she continued, "I have never seen you look at anyone the way you look at her. You looked at her like she was the only woman on Earth and she looked at you like you put the stars in the sky. I'm older, Harry. I'm wiser. I've worked in this industry a long time, so believe me when I say that the connection you two shared doesn't come around very often."
