Buzz buzz buzz. I felt my phone vibrating under my pillow. Ugh, I thought to myself as I reached for my phone. I turned the tiny lamp on next to my bed, and read the text.

Ashlyn:
Don't forget that we're meeting at the lot at midnight. Be there.

Oh crap! I totally forgot! I rolled over my body and looked at my digital clock. It's 11:49! Oh I better get ready. I swung my legs over the bed and and pulled on a sweater, grabbed my Nike pros, and put on my Skechers.

I started for my window, but turned around because I forgot my phone. I flipped it open and sent Ashlyn a text.

Sasha:
Cool it girl! I'm on my way!😉

I felt for the rough lock, and flipped it. I pulled as hard as I could, and the creaky and rickety window opened enough for me to shove my self through. The jump from the roof isn't that far, only about 6 and a half feet. It did send a sharp jolt through my shins though. I shook it off and bolted to the lot.

When I got there, Ashlyn was chuckling at her phone. She saw me coming and quickly shut it, putting a fake bored expression on her face. What's going on, I thought to myself.

"Hey girl!" She said cheerily.

"Hey," I mumbled.

"What's going on with you. We're going to hang out, come on." She said waving me along.

I'm not your dumb puppy dog Ashlyn, I thought to myself. Ever since 1st grade she's bossed me around, but she's still my best friend.  Since we've been friends for over 10 years, I feel obligated to still be friends with her. Besides, she's not the most popular girl in school, and doesn't have many friends besides me.

"Um, can you hurry up. We're on a tight schedule here." She said hurrying me.

"What is going on," I asked confused," I thought we were going to the movies. That's in the other direction."

"I lied." She admitted shamefully.

"Why?" I asked.

Her eyes wandered behind me and she whispered," I'm so sorry Sasha."
