The first place Ashley took me to was a clothing place called Rue 21. She picked out a variety of sweaters and skirts and jeans for me to try on and model, and a couple of things for herself. It was pretty fun, strutting around the dressing room as she took pictures of us. Even sending one of me in a cropped sweater and skirt blowing a kiss to the camera to Pete and Patrick. They, immediately responded that they loved it so I ended up getting that outfit on top of a bunch of other clothes that probably cost a fortune. Needless to say I felt guilty watching Ashley swipe her card. Though not guilty enough to protest when we went to look at shoes.

I ended up with two new pairs of shoes. Black high tops and brown ankle boots. Ashley even let me get these really cool knee-high socks. After wandering through a majority of the mall and purchasing things such as, an olive bomber jacket, jeans in various colors, and a comfortable navy blue dress that hangs loosely off of me. We were at the complete opposite side of the mall, where conveniently, an art store and the infamous Hot Topic were right next to each other.

Ashley and I looked through the aisles of glorious art supplies somewhat quietly. There were rows and rows of paint and brushes and pencils. Any kind of paper or canvas you could want. Every brand of colored pencils or markers or oil pastels you could imagine. What really caught my attention though, was the dark easel that sat in the back of the store. I tried not to look at it too much because I didn't want Ashley to actually buy the thing. That would be ridiculous. Instead we left with a sketch pad and a variety pack of pencils.

I, of course, took every possible chance to thank the girl who had given me so much in the few hours that she knew me. She just laughed it off and said it was the highlight of her week. Then she ushered me over to Hot Topic, eager to show me what was so great about it. I have to say, it was pretty cool. Right as we walked in the whole atmosphere changed. It was this wonderful mix of chaos and moodiness that captured your attention immediately. Music played loud enough to hear the words unlike most stores. It was pretty dim, but most of the stuff in there was dark colored anyways.

I had broken away from Halsey and was on my own in the back. A wall of designs advertised the t-shirt designs below. Most of them were logos of bands I hadn't heard of. But at the very top was a black design with a blue square cut out of the center. White letters in the middle spelled out 'Halsey' and the word 'Badlands' beneath it. I picked through a pile of the sweaters with the design before finding one that would fit me. I held it up and turned around to see Halsey standing right there.

"Hey! You found my shirt! That's sick." She grins at, holding the sweater and then holds out a shirt to me. "See how this fits."

I trade her my shirt for hers. It's a black t-shirt with a red and white design in the middle. It's showing a logo for a band called 'Fall Out Boy'. "Is this their band?" Halsey nods, knowing who I'm talking about.

"Just hold it up to see if it looks like it'll fit." I do as she says and she nods in approval. "I like it. Pete and Patrick will like it even more." She takes the shirt back just as the song that was playing changed and her face lights up. "This is one of their songs. That's coincidental." She chuckles a little.

The song is upbeat and the voice singing has a crazy vocal range, nothing like what I thought Patrick would sound like. He hits incredibly high notes, just to drop his voice suddenly.

Hey, young blood. Doesn't it feel like your time is running out?

"And this is Patrick singing?" Halsey nods. "That's definitely not how I imagined his voice." I shake my head in disbelief.
