After school James has to go home so it's just Echo and me. We walk to where Pete and Patrick said they'd meet me. As we approach the car I see Pete get out to greet us. Echo slaps my shoulder excitedly.
"Holy crap..." He whispers under his breath.
"Hey Kiddo. New friend?" Pete walks around the car to us.
"Hey Pete. This is Echo." I barely get out his name before Echo is babbling away to Pete.
"Pete, sir. I am such a huge fan. You have no idea. Young Blood Chronicles, can I just say, by far one of the best video series I've seen. Really, your work has inspired me so much."
Pete chuckles. "Nice to meet you Echo. Cool name."
"Oh, well my real name is Eathen. But my friends call me Echo because- well it's a long story."
"Alright then, Echo. Are you going to be joining us this afternoon?" Echo looks over at me and I shrug.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"Well Patrick's at the new place and I have a meeting, so we thought you could check the place out and hang with Patrick till I get back."
"Sounds good. Come on Echo it'll be fun." I climb into the car next to Pete and Echo gets in the middle back.
The car ride is spent talking about music. Well, it's mostly Pete and Echo talking about music and Echo telling me he's going to show me a bunch of bands later. It's not until Pete pulls into the driveway of the new place that I really look around. We're in the nicer part of town, meaning I don't really know my way around. It's fairly close to the school, that kind of suburby look to the place. Our house is a picture perfect snapshot of a white, two story, green lawn, apple tree, kind of place.
"Nice neighborhood. " Echo chuckles. Pete rolls his eyes.
"Well, Patrick loves it, so I do too." Pete grins up at the house, off in his own world.
"I actually live a street over." Echo twists around in his seat to grin at me. "We're neighbors, Luce!"
"Great," I answer sarcastically. Pete laughs from the front seat.
"Ok, kids. I got places to be." He gestures at us.
"We're going, we're going. " Echo and I climb out of the car, slinging bags over our shoulders as we go. "See ya, Pete."
"Bye kiddo. I'll be back around six. Nice to meet you, Echo."
"You too, Pete." Echo slams his door and Pete drives off. Echo turns to me with wide eyes. "Luceille Crowley." He says dramatically.
"Eathen Fryden." I interrupt, mocking his tone.
He ignores me and continues. "Pete Wentz just drove us home from school." He mimes his mind exploding, stumbling back a couple steps in the process, and lookimg like a five year old.
"Yes, I am aware of our current situation. " He rolls his eyes at me and runs his hands through his black hair.
"Be quiet, this is a big moment for me." He puts his hands on my shoulders to add to the dramtic affect.
"I-I'm sure it is." I suddenly become very aware of how little space is between us. "Can we go inside now?" I try to regain my easy demeaner as Echo releases me and his eyed widen again.
"Patrick Stump is behind that door." He points to the front door.
"Yes, I know. Now let's go inside. " I take his hand and lead him up the walkway like a child. I try not to focus on how sweaty my hand is. God, when did I become so self - conscious with Echo?
I shake the thought from my head as I push through the door, Echo practically shaking with anticipation at my side. Right as we walk in I'm overtaken by the light from the huge windows against the beige wooden floor. To the right there's two couches in what I'm assuming is the living room. Behind the back wall I can see a staircase poking out.
"Lucy? That you?" A voice comes from behind the wall in front of us before Patrick is in front of me, a surprised look on his face. "Hey, guys." His face turns into a warm smile.
"Hi Patrick. This is Echo."
"Hi Echo," Patrick smiles.
"Hi. Wow..." He stares at him in amazement for a second. "Sorry," he smiles sheepishly. "Big fan." Patrick grins at this.
"That's awesome, always fun to meet a fan." Echo grins. "Well, Luce, your room is right over there." He turns and points past the living room to the hall, where a door peeks around the corner. "Pete and I put your stuff in there. You can change it around if you want." He shrugs and steps aside. "I'll be upstairs. Call if you need me. Pete should be back around five-thirty."
"Thanks, Patrick." I give him a quick hug before leading Echo to my new room. I hear Patrick go up the stairs, and push open my door.
"Whoa..." I breathe. My new room is gigantic. There's a bedframe with a matress to my right, where the wall indents a little. Next to it is a door that I assume leads to a closet. Facing the bed across the room is a desk. There's all my new art stuff layed out, along with a couple of new things. Next to it is an arm chair. Overstuffed and all covered in brown leather. It's perfect. On the other side of the desk is an empty bookcase.
Echo chuckles from the doorframe.
"What?" I ask defensively.
"You're just really cute, all wide-eyed and innocent." I blush and look down. He walks over to me, stopping in front of me. I stare at our shoes.
"I am not." I look up when he laughs again.
"Yes you are. You're like a little bunny rabbit." He smirks. "That's what I'll call you, bunny."
"No way." I smack his arm lightly. "That is a very suggestive name." He bursts out laughing.
"C'mon, it's perfect. Bunny." I reach up to hit him again but he traps my arm. I go to use my other one but he gets that one too. Soon we're caught up in some kind of pretzel of arms. He spins me around and holds me from behind. He lifts me up and I kick my legs out, squealing.
"Stop!" I try not to laugh too much as I say it, failing miserably.
"Nuh-uh, Bunny!"
"You're such a dork." He sets me down and spins me back around.
"But you love it." He winks. "Bunny." I cringe away, scrunching up my nose and fall a few steps backwards. He catches me and pulls me closer, almost making me fall into his chest.
"Occasionally."
Omg do you ship Jucy or Lecho more? Like stuff has happened with both of them and she's gonna get together with one of them eventually so... but idk who I like more at this point.
Ok, sorry. You probably don't care. I'm extremely invested in this story.
