After Pete and Patrick left I reluctantly made my way to the dining room. I wasn't really hungry but I didn't really have anywhere else to go. I sat at the end, trying not to draw too much attention to my sudden presence. Of course Allie was looking right at me, and beside her a girl, Emily, was soon staring as well. Emily and Allie were about the same age and it seemed they were now good friends. I tried not to let my jealousy get the best of me as I noticed more and more of the girls looking over.

"Nice of you to join us, Lucy." Jenny tried to bring the room to a more comfortable level of staring at me. "Would you like something to eat? We're having hamburgers." She smiled warmly as I looked over the plates. Real meat was rare here, I was surprised someone had even made dinner though.

"No thank you. I'm not hungry." I look down at my fidgeting hands.

"Too good for our food now, rich kid?" Someone whispered under her breath. Someone else stifled laughter. I looked up to see Allie with her lips clamped together, looking down at her plate. Hurt and anger washed over me. What? Just because I was getting adopted they were going to resent me now? How is that fair?

"I'm going to lie down." Jenny nodded and gave me a sympathetic look.

"I guess you still like our crappy beds though." I looked up quick enough to see Emily finishing her sentence and toss some hair over her shoulder. She pursed her lips at me and I glared at her before heading up the stairs.

While I still could, I went through the wardrobe at the end of the bed. I set aside a set of pajamas and pulled my few personal belongings out. I shoved all of my things into the suitcase under my bed and pulled the locket Allie had gotten me off my neck. I don't need anything from her. I shoved it in the back under a pile of clothes and took my pajamas to go shower. The less I have of this place the easier it will be to forget.

The next morning it was extremely hard to get up. I had barley slept all night. A mix of excitement, anger, betrayal, and sadness kept my brain active. I put on my new outfit that I wore last night because it wasn't really dirty and I didn't want to wear any clothes from here again. It wasn't a 'rich kid' thing like the other girls were whispering about, it was a 'I'm tired of this place and it's clothes' thing.

I sat in the back of the bus where I watched Emily and Allie talk to their friends, most likely about me, seeing the way they kept looking back. I was beyond thankful when we arrived at Echo's stop so at least wouldn't be sitting alone.

He cheerfully walked back to sit next to me. I sighed when he did and put my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

"Whoa, late night?" I looked up at him for a second and nodded. He chuckled at me. "What happened after you left yesterday?" I just shook my head.

"Wait for James, I don't want to tell the story twice." He nodded and let me be. Talking with another guy who I didn't like all that much.

After what seemed like forever James finally came and sat in front of Echo and me.

"Hey, what happened? You look like hell." I give him a fake smile.

"What every girl wants to hear."

"Sorry. Nice... Shirt? Wait did you go shopping? Did you leave school to go shopping?"

"Not quite-"

"Well then what happened?"

"Will you shut up and let her tell the story? I've been waiting all morning." Echo butts in to my rescue.

"Thank you, Echo. Ok, what happened was- you remember those guys who saw us when we ditched last week?" James nodded.

"Wait, you ditched? Without me?" Echo held a hand to his chest and I hit him playfully.

"I didn't even know you then. Now be quiet." They both nodded solemnly. "Ok, anyways. Those guys, Pete and Patrick, they adopted me last night." I grin as James smiles and leans over the seat to hug me.

"That's awesome, Luce!"

Echo gives a confused look. "I didn't know you were an orphan." James hits Echo.

"Harsh, mate."

"It's fine, I'm not really anymore. They filled out the paperwork and I'm gonna go live with them on Friday."

"Wait, wait, wait. Did you say Pete and Patrick? Like the married couple, Pete and Patrick? Like the in the band-" Echo looks down at my shirt. "Holy crap... Are you getting adopted Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump?"

"Um... I think that's their names. They're in that band Fall Out Boy."

"Oh my god. Lucille Crowley! You cannot just keep stuff like this from us!"

"Oh, is Fall Out Boy that band with the Centuries song?" James looks at Echo and then at me. We share the same look.

"Yes, they're the band with that Centuries song." He scoffs. "I can't believe they're adopting you!" Echo hits my shoulder with excitement.

"Yeah, I guess. Anyway, their friend, Ashley took me shopping while they filled paperwork out. They're picking me up after school."

"Shut up. Can I meet them?" Echo looks at me pleadingly.

"Maybe. I don't know what they have planned." I shrug and Echo seems to settle with it and sits back in his seat.

I can't really blame him though. Pete and Patrick have proved themselves as awesome parents/brothers/uncles.

Little shorter than usual, but I mean the recent updates have been pretty long. Hope you enjoyed anyway.
