The week goes by in a blur and before I know it I'm waking up Sunday morning with utter dread before I can even coherently remember why I'm so upset. Halloween... Yay. Note the sarcasm. Damn this holiday.

I get out of bed anyway. If I don't get up now I know I never will. It's a little later than I usually get up, but it's not too bad for a Sunday morning. In the kitchen Patrick whistles while he fries something in a pan and Pete dances around the room, occasionally picking bits of food off of the counter, Patrick does his best to swat his hand away, but Pete is quicker and takes a piece of bacon before turning to greet me.

"Morning!" He chirps, making me groan and rub my eyes. "How'd you sleep?"

"Fine, just tired." I hear Pete chuckle from behind my squinted eyelids.

"Well, breakfast is almost ready, why don't you take a seat?" Patrick advises me from the other side of the breakfast bar. I do as I'm told, sitting cross-legged in a chair at the table, looking up at Pete as he turns on the radio to some classic rock station. He grins as the song comes on, and then proceeds to serenade us with his surprisingly not awful voice. I smile at him and Patrick as they come over with the food and a couple of plates and forks.

"You want something to drink, Luce?"

"Coffee," I joke. I don't really drink too much caffeine and when I do I tend to get teased about how hyper I am.

"Ok." Pete says and gets up to pour me a cup.

"Pete," Patrick chides him and he looks back at us with an innocent look.

"What?" He asks in a defensive tone. "If the kid wants coffee, who am I to tell her no. She's fifteen for God's sake, let her live a little." He sets the mug in front of me and I immediately go for the creamer. No way am I drinking black coffee, Echo does it sometimes and it grosses me out.

"Don't you remember what happened last time?" Patrick gives us both a look as we try to recall what he's talking about. The only thing I can think of is when Pete got Starbucks. I wasn't that crazy that time... Was I? I remember I was laughing really hard and I fell off the couch at one point, but I mean I could've done that without any coffee in my system, I'm clumsy, ok?

"It wasn't that bad." I tell him as I take a sip of the now light brown liquid in front of me, deeming it sweet enough to consume now.

Patrick sighs,"Ok, but don't come running to me when she's bouncing off the walls." He looks over at Pete who holds up his palms in defense.

"I won't, I'm sure I can handle her if she gets out of control." I giggle at that as the image of Pete chasing me around the house pops up.

"Good luck with that, Pete." He grins at me and Patrick looks between us.

"You're rubbing off on her..." He sighs. "Great, that's what I need, two ten year olds running around with no adult supervision." Pete chuckles and I stick out my tongue.

"I'm ten and a half, for your information." Patrick looks up at me and smiles before dropping his head in his hands.

"How did I get here?" He asks, smiling a little.

"You got lucky." Pete tells him, leaning over the table to give him a quick kiss.

"I can't deny that," he chuckles. "I'm incredibly lucky." He smiles over at me and I return the gesture, finding myself to think of Pete and Patrick more like my parents everyday. I really couldn't imagine if they had left me in that home, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think I'm the one who really got lucky.

Around seven is when Echo comes over. We don't have school the next day and his mom gets off work at around midnight so he has no problem staying over for a good couple of hours. Not that I'm complaining, we sit propped up against my headboard and pillows as the movie he picked out plays out of his laptop he brought over. We leave the door cracked as per Pete and Patrick's request, but I don't really mind, we're just laying here. Every once in a while Echo will kiss my cheek or forehead, but other than that we keep it PG.

Around the time the first movies ends, and the seconds is put in, Echo starts up a conversation.

"My birthday is in a month." He tells me.

"Happy early birthday!" I rush out in an obnoxious voice that makes him chuckle.

"Well, once I turn sixteen, my mom said I could drive down to my uncles and she would enroll me in highschool in L.A."

"Really?" I ask,"That's awesome." We both grin and I lean up a tiny bit to kiss him quickly. "I'm leaving in two weeks though, I'm gonna miss your birthday." His smile falters for half a second.

"Don't worry about it, Luce. As soon as I get down there, we can have a party and you can meet my uncle and cousin. It'll be sick." I smile, I find it funny when he uses that word.

"Are you getting a car then, for your birthday?"

"Maybe. My mom has her Honda and a truck so I'm thinking she might give the the truck. At least to haul all my stuff down." I nod, curling against Echo as I take this in. I'm still going to have a week of school without him, but that can't be so bad, at least not in the long run. My stomach still cramps with anxiety but I push it down as I try to focus on the right now.

Echo kisses the top of my head and wraps his arms around me in an almost protective manner. I smile still though, I never thought I'd be the girl who relied so much on her boyfriend throughout high school. If you think about it, Echo is my only friend, the only person I talk to outside of Pete and Patrick. I must seem like a hermit to my classmates.

The thought of being so tied to Echo makes me uncomfortable so I shift ever so slightly in his arms so he hold loosens. Then I make it a goal to make more friends in L.A. I can't spend my life with one person, because I know that this thing with Echo won't last forever, as much as I really want it to.

Hi there. So as some of you might have seen, the perquel is up and running at the moment. I have a pretty good idea of a plotline for it and think it might get a little longer than I had intended, but I think you'll like it, even if you're just looking for a cute Peterick.

**Also if you are interested in creating a character for the future of this fic, please PM me.

Other than that, I'm working on a more permenant schedule that currently consists of at least one update of this fic a week and two of the prequel. There is also a short Ryden I have been working on for a while that is almost done and I can't wait to get it out and published.

Ok I need to go before this is longer than the actual chapter.
