~Castiel's POV~

Castiel sighed heavily. It had been a few days since he got partnered with the high school's new jackass jock Dean Winchester. Castiel looked up as Dean entered the classroom, a girl practically attached to his side. Castiel rolled his eyes.

"Bye babe." The girl smirked flirtatiously, casting her eyes over Castiel in a way that he felt he was being hunted. Castiel fidgeted a bit under her look before she turned and walked away. Castiel shuddered a bit once she was out of eyesight. Dean flopped down in his chair and kicked his feet up on the desk.

"Heya Cas." He grinned.

"My name is Castiel," Castiel muttered opening his book. Dean leaned over and looked at his work. "Do you mind?" Cas snapped causing Dean to jump back a bit.

"Sorry. Didn't know you were such a grouch." Dean leaned back and crossed his arms. Castiel sighed and sat crisscrosses in his chair. His mood only got worse when the Winchester showed up, his dark mood caused by Uriel and reoccurring nightmares. He ran a hand through his messy hair and rubbed his eyes, showing how sleep deprived he was. "Dude you look like shit." Dean actually sounded concerned. 'Why would he be concerned about me? I'm just someone he got paired with cause he was being an ass.' Castiel sighed.

"It's been a rough day." He admitted. Dean nodded with a sympathetic look that caught Cas off guard.

"Understandable." He sighed. "I have many rough days." Silence passed between them for a moment. "My brother won't stop talking about yours," Dean commented. A small smile came upon Castiel's face.

"Which one?" He looked up at Dean. Dean grinned.

"Both I suppose. Sam's complaining about one, Michael is happy to have a 'friend'." Dean chuckled. Castiel's smile got a bit bigger.

"Gabriel's hellbent on cracking your brother. And Luce... Well, he doesn't make friends easily so him having Michael is a big deal. To him at least." Castiel sighed wistfully. The bell rang and they both, reluctantly, faced forwards. After class, they stood up and instead of bolting out the door like Castiel would normally he waited for Dean. Dean got up and followed him out to roam the halls during their home room period. Dean stopped and looked at Michael who looked like he was wet had a very pissed off look on his face. Lucifer was, of course, leaning against the locker beside Michael's. Lucifer smirked at Michael.

"What did you do Luci?" Cas asked as they approached the two. Lucifer threw his hands up in the air.

"Hey! Don't be blaming me!" He grinned.

"Dean. I hope you're not too fond of Sam. Cause I'm going to have to kill him." Michael said darkly.

"What did he do?" Dean asked curiously.

"This!" He motioned to his damp clothes. "And what's worse is my math teacher was pissed because of something so I could go get a change of clothes!" He whined.

"You messed with his hair didn't you?" Dean asked with a smirk.

"Maybe." Michael sighed. "Bobby's not home and Jo has the house keys. Ellen's at work and I can't get into the house." He huffed. Lucifer rolled his eyes.

"C'mon I'm tired of hearing you whine." Lucifer put his hand on Michaels back and guided him away careful not to get his own clothes wet. Dean chuckled and turned to Castiel.

"Your brother seems to like mine," Castiel said with a grin.

"Which one?" Dean quoted what Castiel had said earlier. Castiel chuckled and shrugged.

"Both." He replied. He smiled. "Well I have to get to class, our free period is over. Bye Dean, I'll see you after school."

"Bye Cas." Dean waved and headed down the hall.

Dean's POV

Dean leaned against the hood of his Impala, watching Sam talk to Gabriel from a distance. He was waiting for Castiel who said he would let Dean come over and study. He frowned a bit looking around. He noticed some of his jock buddies slip around the side of the school. He pushed off the hood and followed to investigate.

"Aww, Cas." He heard a guy sneer.

"Don't touch me."

"Lookie kitty has claws. Sorry, Cas we've been trying to get you away from the Winchester all day."

"What the hell?" Dean mumbled softly. He peered around the wall only to find a sight that made his blood boil. A few of the boys had Castiel pinned against the side of the school, his bag dumped on the ground and its contents strewn all about. A trickle of blood ran from Castiel's nose but he didn't seem to be bothered. But his eyes widened in fear as the boys loomed over him.

"Hey!" Dean shouted striding forwards aggressively. Castiel looked up, a look of relief flooding his face. "Back the fuck off!" Dean snapped, shoving a guy backward.

"Hey, Dean. Trust me, you don't want to hang out with this dumbass. He and his family are bad news."

"I'll decide who I hang out with thank you," Dean snarled giving the guy another hard shove. He bent down and put all of Castiel's things back in his bag. "Let's go Cas." Dean put his arm around the shaken teens shoulders and led him away.

"You're making a bad choice Dean!"

"Screw you!" Dean responded, merely flipping them off. Cas rubbed away the small trickle of blood.

"Thanks," Cas mumbled looking down and sniffling slightly.

"No problem. Are you okay?" Dean asked worriedly. Gabriel looked up from his conversation with Sam as he spotted Dean leading Cas towards the Impala. Both Sam and Gabriel approached.

"Yeah, I'm fine... Thanks for stepping in."

"No problem Cas. Those assholes will get what's coming to them." Dean replied removing his arm from around Castiel's shoulder. He reached inside and grabbed a tissue for Cas. Gabriel looked at Castiel worriedly.

"What happened?" He asked looking over his shoulder. The teens who were messing with Cas came out from behind the school glancing over and snickering. "Those cowards!" He started towards them but was stopped as Sam quickly put his arm around him and pulled him back.

"Let it go. Dean will handle it." He murmured to calm the furious Gabriel.

"Okay, okay." He sighed. "Well let's get to my house children." His face broke into his signature smile. Sam nodded and climbed in the back, letting Cas take the passenger seat. Gabriel climbed in beside Sam and settled down.

"Everyone ready?" Dean asked. When he got the consensus of 'yes' he started the car and peeled out of the parking lot. He turned up his music, causing Sam to roll his eyes.

"You know the way Cas, tell me where to go," Dean said over the music. Cas nodded and pointed out the way.
